«Breaking News» Hero Grizzly saves mother and cub from a charging 'Bully' bear during feeding time on whale carcass

A gathering of Grizzlies around a whale blubber buffet almost ended badly for one mother and cub if not for a hero bear who fought off their attacker.

Brad Josephs, 43, a wildlife photographer and bear habitat guide, shared footage from 2015 where he captured the dramatic scene as a group of bears fed on a whale carcass washed up on shore in Katmai National Park, Alaska.

'There is no food on earth more attractive to bears than whale blubber, and the strong scent draws them in from many miles around,' Josephs said.

It was during the nutritious feast that Josephs witnessed several male behemoths weighing approximately 1,000 lbs throwing their weight around.

'Most of the bears were mellow and didn't mind sharing, but during the several days we spent there we saw several giant males (at least 1,000 pounds) who weren't so tolerant,' he noted.

According to Josephs, when the bigger males were feeding, the females and cubs had to wait until the giants were sated and sleeping before taking their turn at the carcass.

His video shows a dangerous scene develop for one mother and cub who ventured close to the whale carcass while one of the bigger males, called 'Bully' by Josephs, still roamed nearby.

Bully had been vying for dominance over the rich food source with another massive Grizzly, but at this point in the video, he decides to charge the young cub. The smaller mother bear places herself in-between and is pushed back to the water's edge by the attack.

'Bully's sheer size, and the proximity to the water's edge, made for a grave situation that I thought would be fatal for the mother bear,' Joseph recounts. 'But out of nowhere, the competing male charges and fully engages with "Bully."'

The titanic males claw, wrestle and bite each other with ferocity for almost half-a-minute until both appear to tire and back down. For whatever reason, the intervening bear had rescued the other two.

'Was he trying to be a hero?' Josephs wondered at the scene. 'I think he saw an opportunity at gaining an upper hand on his competitor while he was distracted, but with an animal as complex as a grizzly bear, you can’t know for sure, and that’s what makes watching bears so amazing.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
