Geri Horner has waded into the #MeToo debate and revealed that she believes historical sexual harassment was often caused by 'cultural' issues and 'ignorance'.  

In a wide ranging - and occasionally surreal - exclusive interview with The Sunday Times, the mother-of-two also revealed that she believes Winston Churchill was 'the original Spice Girl'. 

The former Ginger Spice, 46, shares two-year-old son Monty with her Red Bull racing tycoon husband Christian Horner, and has a daughter Bluebell, 12, with ex Sacha Gervasi. 

When asked if #MeToo made her reassess some of the things she had to put up with when she was younger, she replied: 'I haven't really looked back. We can't change the past. 

'Yeah, that wasn't great — a lot of the behaviour is not excusable, but a lot of it is ignorance, if they [men] don't know any different, and it's cultural.'

Geri added that she is happy that women and girls now find it easier to express their unhappiness or anger, as 'before...it was deemed not likeable if you showed your rage.'  

Geri famously declared that Margaret Thatcher was the original Spice Girl and a pioneer of Girl Power back in the band's nineties heyday.

When asked if Theresa May is a Spice Girl, the interview took a bizarre twist.

She said:  'Anybody who is standing up, no matter what they're rooting for, you've got to give them credit. She's doing her best with what she's got, so she deserves a bit of support for that, for God's sake. I would like to see [how] somebody else [gets on] standing there, because that is a hard job.  

'Even Winston Churchill got fired. Did you know that? He won a war for us and he got fired. For me, Winston Churchill is the original Spice Girl. That is the one to follow.'

Geri is preparing for the Spice Girls reunion tour - scheduled to begin in Cardiff on May 27.

Original member Victoria Beckham AKA Posh Spice will not be joining Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Geri and Emma Bunton on tour.

The appearance comes amid claims the band turned down an '£80 million offer to tour America' over fears it may cause 'tension' between the bandmates.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
