SKIP THE HIIT TRAINING

HIIT workouts are great to help you lose weight quickly, but they also raise your cortisol levels, making you stressed -  and could also be stopping you from sleeping.

The personal trainer, who trains celebrities including actress Jodie Comer and Maya Jama, said that the ultimate goal for most of us is to lose weight - but HIIT won't have long lasting effects on your body.

The PT said: 'A lot of people tend to do HIIT when trying to lose weight, but you'll lose muscle strength.

'It also hammers your cortisol, so if you are already stressed it will raise your cortisol even further and you’ll wonder why you can’t sleep at night.'

Alice believes strength training is the better way to work out, as it not only helps you get fitter faster but builds strength in your body

Instead she believes strength and resistance training, which includes solid compound movements like squats, dead lifts, single leg work and weight bearing exercises, is a better way to work out.

This is because it not only helps you get fitter faster but builds strength in your body, helps to increase your overall movement and also improves posture and bone density.

'For me weight training is great, as it lays down a good level of strength, helping a number of things including posture and overall movement,' she said.

The PT, who is currently ambassador for E.ON Energy, uses these methods when she trains her clients at Third Space gym in London, while other gyms such as Sweat It, Barry's Bootcamp and Victus Soul use strength training in their classes too.

WORK OUT IN THE MORNING

Alice also says that the best time to workout is in the morning, especially in the winter months.

'Your motivation wanes in the evening and it’s so much better to exercise in daylight hours when the temperatures tend to be a bit nicer and it’s light outside,' she explained.

Alice, who has grown her 600,000 Instagram following over the last few years, also says that, the best time to workout is in the morning

DITCH THE SALAD AND DON'T DIET

As we all start to forget our new years resolutions, the PT, who admits to not following any sort of diet, said the best way to eat well in the winter is to make sure you are getting wholesome vegetables into your diet.

'Nobody wants to eat salads in the winter months, so batch cooking stews and casseroles is a great way of making a weeks worth of dinners all at once,' she explained.

'Adding in root veg like carrots, sweet potatoes and parsnips also means you are getting some of your five a day.'

TAKE SCREEN BREAKS

The Instagram fitness star pointed out that exercise is just as much about mental health as it is about physical. She is a big fan of regular breaks from social media and screen time to allow space for gentle exercise.

'It's clear that social media is effecting a lot of us and I can even find it overwhelming at times,' she revealed.

'I try to not use my phone when I don’t need to, it's great to be able to tune out of it and give myself some headspace. So when I feel overwhelmed I pop my phone on aeroplane mode and go for a long walk.

'I also make sure I don't have my phone in my bedroom, so that I’m not glued to my screen before I go to bed.'

Alice is working with E.ON, to provide workouts and tips, to help give you and your home an energy refresh this winter.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
