A gang member suspected of brutally murdering a 15-year-old boy outside a Bronx bodega turned up to court on Monday with a true crime book about a prosecutor's murder.
Kevin Alvarez, 19, is one of 14 believed Trinitarios gang members who dragged Lesandro Guzman-Feliz out of a New York convenience store and stabbed him to death in the street, in June 2018.
Appearing at the Bronx Supreme Court on the same day as nine others of his purported co-murderers, Alvarez was pictured carrying a book titled 'In Plain Sight: The Kaufman County Prosecutor Murders'.
Written by Kathryn Casey, the book details the brutal the murders of two Texas prosecutors, carried out by a former lawyer who enacted revenge on those responsible for convicting him of theft.

Clutching the book 'In Plain Sight: The Kaufman County Prosecutor Murders' behind his back, Alvarez directed the front cover towards the prosecution bench
Prosecutors haven't responded as to whether they believe Alvarez's display was a threat. They are currently under a gag order issued by the judge
Alvarez smugly displayed the book's front cover behind his back on Monday morning, directing it towards the prosecution bench.
Prosecutors at the Bronx District Attorney's office have refused to speculate as to whether the defendant was trying to threaten them or send a message, according to the NY Daily News.
All lawyers involved with the case, including Alvarez's, are under a gag order issued by Judge Robert Neary, who has forbidden them from interacting with the media.
The Judge administered the order to ensure a fair trial and an uncompromised jury, he said.
Feliz's mother was present in the courtroom on Monday, escorted in and out of the premises by a police officer and two members of New York's famous Guardian Angels vigilante group.
'I want justice for Junior,' she told press outside the courtroom. 'I hope they give them 300 years.'

CCTV footage captured the frenzied attack that took place outside Zesarina Grocery located on East 183rd Street, in the Belmont section of The Bronx on June 20, 2018.
Prosecutors say it's Alvarez who can be seen dragging Feliz from the bodega door, as another gang member can be seen slashing at the defenseless teen with a machete.
Police say the alleged killers are members of the Trinitarios subset 'Los Sures' and they believed Lesandro to be a member of rival gang 'Sunset'.
'They allegedly drove to the territory of the Sunset group, came upon Junior and chased him into a bodega in the Belmont section, where he tried to hide,' Bronx DA Darcel Clark said last year.
The footage shows the pack of men forcibly dragging Guzman-Feliz by the hood of his jacket out of the bodega and frantically stabbing and slashing him with a machete before fleeing on foot.

Officers said with his dying breath, the 15-year-old asked for some water. He had aspirations to become a police officer, family say
After a few seconds, Guzman-Feliz is seen standing on the street corner with blood pouring from a wound in his neck.
He then runs across the street, heading towards the nearby St Barnabas Hospital.
According to police, the mortally wounded boy never reached the hospital and collapsed a block away.
He suffered a slash to his throat, police say was caused by a machete.
Officers said with his dying breath, the 15-year-old asked for some water, according to ABC 7 New York.
Investigators said he had told his mother he was going to the bodega a block away from his house to either repay a debt, or lend $5 to a friend. He never made it home that night.
Feliz was a member of the NYPD Explorers' Program, a group for children interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.
Alvarez and all other suspects have pleaded not guilty to Feliz's murder.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
