If you speak to the right people, you'll soon find out that there's a secret that's been doing the rounds in celebrity styling circles for decades.
While expensive clothing and being decked out in the latest collections from fashion labels certainly helps, it takes good tailoring to get style totally right.
Speaking to FEMAIL, Sydney-based personal stylist, Alarna Hope, revealed that 'everything you see has been altered', from the jeans the stars wear on a casual day out to the shirts, skirts, trousers and 'even those head to toe "I've just woken up and look fabulous" outfits'.
Here, Alarna shares the celebrity style secrets you need to know - and the three tweaks you can make for perfect style.
Everything you see on celebrities has been altered, from the jeans the stars wear on a casual day out to the shirts, skirts, trousers and red carpet outfits (pictured: Cate Blanchett)
Personal stylist Alarna Hope (pictured) said the secret to looking good from all angles is to buy a certain type of garment to fit the client's widest part, and then get the rest altered
According to the stylist, who has worked with all sorts of celebrities in the past, the way to look good from all angles is to buy a certain type of garment.
'They [personal stylists] will buy a garment to fit the client's widest part and alter the rest,' Alarna wrote on her blog.
'It seems super expensive and a waste of hard-earned money, but when each item you own fits perfectly, it makes such a difference to your overall look.'
'Some of us honestly walk around in clothing that twists or bunches because we think "that's just my body shape, it will always do this",' Alarna said - but a celebrity always looks good (pictured: Sarah Jessica Parker)
Alarna elaborated, by way of asking when was the last time you saw a celebrity adjust their clothing.
'Some of us honestly walk around in clothing that twists or bunches because we think "that's just my body shape, it will always do this",' she said.
'It won't, gorgeous, your curves just need hugging in the right places.'
If you want to make changes to make your clothing flattering like celebrities such as Margot Robbie (pictured), then you should do things like raising the hemlines and fixing sleeves
When it comes to the alterations you can make to steal the style from the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett and more, Alarna said there are several game-changing alterations you can make.
The first change is to the hemline of your outfits:
'When a pair of pants gets hemmed to the right length, your legs look longer even if you are wearing flat shoes,' Alarna said.
'Slim fitting pants that taper in around the ankle should stop around the top of your ankle bone. Pants that are wide-leg or don't fit in close around the foot should just touch the top of your foot.'
The second change you can make to instantly look better in clothes is to the sleeves:
'If you find you've always got bunching sleeves or sleeves passing your wrist and covering your hand, a simple sleeve shortening will lift the look of your posture and neaten up your appearance,' Alarna said.
'Aim to fit your sleeve to the crease between where your hand meets your wrist.
The last change to make to your own clothes at home is shortening:
'When wearing a dress or a skirt that is knee length, ensure the dress is ending in a place that makes you feel long in the leg,' Alarna said.
'Often off-the-rack knee-length dresses are a touch long and can shorten our appearance.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
