«Breaking News» Lorraine: Woman who went through menopause aged 11 shows off her baby

A woman who went through the menopause at the age of eleven has introduced her 'miracle' baby to the world on Lorraine.

Amanda, now 30, who lives in Nuneaton, is now proud mum to four-week-old Oryn after having IVF treatment using a donor egg and her partner's sperm.

When she stopped having periods and started gaining weight as a teen Amanda put it down to her changing hormones, but was later diagnosed with premature menopause and told she'd gone through the 'change' at the age of 11.

Amanda and her partner Tom appeared on the ITV chat show on Monday, and the thrilled mum confessed she still 'can't believe' she has a baby.

She said the couple plan to use their three remaining embryos from the IVF process to expand their family, joking that they've got 'three little people in the freezer'.

Most women start the menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, but in rare cases it can occur prematurely without an explanation.

Smiling proudly as Tom held their baby son in his arms, Amanda said: 'I still don't believe it to be honest.'

Explaining how she conceived, Amanda revealed that she was on a high dosage of HRT to thicken the lining of her uterus, which due to menopause was 2mm thick and it needed to be at least 8mm.

She was on the tablets for just four weeks before her uterus had thickened enough and she was ready for the embryo to be implanted.

Amanda fell pregnant on her first try, but continued to take hormones during the first 13 weeks of her pregnancy to help Oryn grow.

She called her labour 'horrendous', revealing: 'I was induced... then went into labour and tried to push for four hours but his head was pushing against my spine, so there was emergency C-section in the end. I had everything.'

The couple are planning to have another baby in the next few years using their remaining embroyos, which will be cheaper than IVF as they will only have to pay to get them implanted.

Amanda said: 'We've got three embryos left which were made the same day as him so they're almost like twins. It will be a couple of years we think but we're very happy with just him at the moment.'

'We always say we've got three little people in the freezer,' she added.

Amanda appeared on Lorraine earlier this year when she was pregnant and explained how, when she met her other half, Tom, she told him 'straight away by text' about her condition.

'He was fine about it - the way I was building it up he thought it was something a lot more serious,' she told Lorraine.

Amanda was just 11 when her weight spiralled and she began to experience extreme mood swings - something that was put down to the onset of puberty at the time.

'It was very difficult,' she told Lorraine.

'The biggest thing was the weight gain and my mood swings. I went from a size 8 to 18 in a matter of months and then I just started getting down.'

It was six months before doctors - alerted by erratic hormone levels evident in Amanda's blood tests - realised she was going through premature menopause - decades before most women start experiencing symptoms.

'I went on a mixture of HRT and the pill, they chopped and changed me because I had side effects on one then the other, and that has been on and off since basically,' Amanda said of her years on medication.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
