«Breaking News» Woman nearly died after wire from bra 'sliced her stomach in half and cut her liver and diaphragm'

A woman who was shot in the chest and stomach at close range nearly died when the metal from the underwire bra she was wearing pierced her body and did damage to vital organs, according to a medical journal.

The incident, which is detailed in the March 2019 issue of the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia, took place two years ago at a hospital in British Columbia.

Doctors at the trauma center at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster received a patient, a 39-year-old woman who had just been shot at close range, according to CTV National News.

The woman, who was responsive and talking, had bullet fragment lodged in her chest and abdomen.

But doctors were confident that the injuries were not life-threatening, and that she would recover.

Shortly after she was admitted to the hospital, however, her condition began to unexpectedly deteriorate.

She had difficulty breathing, which prompted doctors to place a tube down her throat.

Doctors then rushed her to the operating room. When they began surgery by cutting open her chest, they were shocked to see a metal wire emerge from deep inside the incision.

‘When the surgeon opened her, this thing just literally sprang up at 90 degrees,’ Laura Duggan, an anesthesiologist at the University of British Columbia, told The Washington Post.

‘To open an abdomen and have a wire pop out at 90 degrees, it felt like we were on a Grey’s Anatomy episode.’

The doctors weren’t sure what it was. Initially, there was fear that an explosive device had been lodged in the woman’s chest.

Laura Duggan, an anesthesiologist at the University of British Columbia, was one of the surgeons who operated on the woman. ‘The underwire acted like a sword, it was almost surgical,' she said

The alarm was so great that doctors evacuated the room and a police officer was asked to take a look.

The officer said that it was extremely unlikely that the wire was part of any sort of bomb.

‘We were starting to get people to leave [the operating room],’ Duggan said.

‘That’s when this nurse came in and said, “Hey, that’s an underwire!”’

Duggan then took a look at the clothing that had been removed from the patient after she was rushed to the operating room.

That’s when it was confirmed that the wire from her bra was missing.

Doctors believed that the impact of the bullets was so severe that it pushed the underwire into the woman’s body.

‘I couldn’t believe the sharpness on those edges, man, on the underwire,’ Duggan said.

‘It was like a scythe, truly.’

Doctors discovered that the underwire sliced the woman’s stomach in half, cut her liver, and lacerated her diaphragm.

‘The underwire acted like a sword, it was almost surgical,’ said Duggan.

The patient eventually recovered. Since then, doctors have issued warnings about wires in bras.

‘I personally have never found them to be comfortable myself,’ said Duggan.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
