ISIS bride Shamima Begum cared for wounded jihadis and nursed them back to health so they could get back to fighting US-led coalition forces, it emerged today.
The remorseless 19-year-old claimed she had lived a 'normal life' after fleeing Bethnal Green for Syria, marrying a Dutch Muslim convert fighter and having his children.
But today security sources claimed that while she may have started her ISIS life as a housewife she later helped with its war effort.
It is alleged she worked in crumbling caliphate's National Hospital in its de facto capital Raqqa.
First she cleaned wards and changed beds before changing bandages and caring for soldiers with gunshot wounds and other injuries.
ISIS bride Shamima Begum claimed to be a housewife but actually cared for wounded jihadis, security sources have said
Raqqa's now-shattered National Hospital, where Begum allegedly worked as an ISIS nurse despite no medical training
A security source told the Daily Mirror: 'We know that in her first year in Raqqa she worked in the hospital treating ISIS fighters, while her husband mounted attacks on US-led coalition forces.
Shamima Begum, 19 (pictured before she left the country four years ago) and her family are all pleading with the government to allow her back into Britain
'Women worked as cleaners, cooks and ad hoc nurses in the hospital where IS soldiers that had a chance of recovery were patched up – those badly injured were shot dead. Latterly, she worked more closely with patients.'
He added: 'We are not clear if Begum worked as a volunteer or was forced, but she willingly flew to Turkey and got across the border to join ISIS.'
Begum has had her US passport torn up - but her son Jerah, reportedly named after a 7th century Islamic warlord, will have the right to be a British citizen.
They are both in a Syrian refugee camp after fleeing ISIS' final losing battle in Baghouz, where they face certain defeat.
She believed that Britain should show her 'sympathy and understanding' and let her come back to London - but the UK says he 'actions must have consequences'.
Today the jihadi bride's family have written to the Home Secretary challenging his decision to revoke her British citizenship.
Sajid Javid blocked the 19-year-old's return earlier this week, saying she poses a risk to the country's security.
But in a letter to Mr Javid, her family have said they 'cannot simply abandon her' and that her status is 'a matter for our British courts'.
Shamima Begum and her friend fled to Syria by flying to Istanbul and getting a bus across Turkey to the ISIS capital, Raqqa. She moved to Mayadin with her jihadi husband Yago Riedijk but fled Baghuz when he was captured and is now in al-Hawl
Begum's baby son Jerah is entitled to British citizenship - but could try to argue he is Dutch because of the nationality of its jihadi father (pictured) and she is pinning her hopes on getting Dutch citizenship off the back of it herself
Begum, who left east London to join Islamic State in 2015, has repeatedly begged from a Syrian refugee camp to be allowed to return home. She gave birth to a baby boy last Sunday and says that she wants to return to the UK with him.
Her family, who live in Bethnal Green, said they are 'sickened' by the comments she has made recently, but have asked for assistance in bringing her home.
According to the BBC the letter, written by her sister Renu Begum on behalf of the family, says: 'As we have already expressed, we are sickened by the comments she has made, but, as a family man yourself, we hope you will understand that we, as her family cannot simply abandon her.
'We have a duty to her, and a duty to hope that as she was groomed into what she has become, she can equally be helped back into the sister I knew, and daughter my parents bore.
'We hope you understand our position in this respect and why we must, therefore, assist Shamima in challenging your decision to take away the one thing that is her only hope at rehabilitation, her British citizenship.'
It came as Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was criticised after saying Begum should be allowed back into the UK and given the 'support that she needs'.
He accused Mr Javid of a 'very extreme manoeuvre' in stripping her of British citizenship – on the basis that she is entitled to live in Bangladesh because her parents were born there.
Mr Corbyn said making Begum stateless is 'not the right thing to do'. She had 'a lot of questions to answer' but should be allowed to return to the UK and 'at that point any action may or may not be taken'. He said: 'The idea of stripping anyone of their citizenship when they're born in Britain is a very extreme manoeuvre. I question the right of the Home Secretary to have these powers.'
Last night, Begum told Sky News: 'I am struggling to get my supplies in right now. I have to run around to take care of my son now, when I am sick. I would like them to re-evaluate my case with a bit more mercy in their heart. I am willing to change.'
Tory MPs accused Mr Corbyn of being 'out of touch with the public mood'. Tim Loughton, who sits on the home affairs committee, said: 'We don't need to be told by an IRA sympathiser we're not behaving justly towards someone who's shown no remorse for what she's done and still doesn't understand the seriousness of her actions.'
Harlow MP Robert Halfon added: 'Yet again Mr Corbyn is entirely wrong about our national security.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
