Ryan Adams is suffering some major fallout after multiple women accused him of manipulative behavior and of pursuing female artists for sex in a New York Times expose.
The singer has been dropped by three major sponsors, had his upcoming album release canceled and been quickly dropped from the airwaves as radio stations remove his songs from rotation.
Adams has remained silent on the subject ever since issuing a disjointed set of tweets hours after the expose went online in which he apologized 'deeply and unreservedly' to his possible victims but then claimed that the allegations being made by these women were 'misrepresented,' 'exaggerated' and 'outright false.'
Touch, feel and lose: Ryan Adams (above in 2016) upcoming album has been cancelled and his current single F*** the Rain has been dropped by radio stations
Billboard spoke to multiple radio stations who had been playing Adams in heavy rotation prior to the Time story on Wednesday, with a handful agreeing to comment on the decision to drop his current single, F*** the Rain.
'Once we got his texts of him sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl, it was like, no, we have to stop,' said one programmer at a Virginia station.
'As of midnight, it's gone. I mean, all of it. The entire catalog.'
Benson, who sponsors Adams and provides the singer sand his band with amplifiers, also released a statement announcing its decision to cut ties in the wake of the Times expose.
'We are saddened and surprised by the recent allegations against Mr. Ryan Adams as documented in the New York Times,' said company president Christopher Benson.
'We have decided to suspend our relationship with Mr. Adams at this moment, and will no longer move forward with the development of the Ryan Adams signature model. We have no further comment at this time.'
Walrus Audio and JHS Pedals were also quick to release statements in the wake of the Times piece saying they will discontinue sales of Adams' branded products.
And the first of his three planned album releases for 2019, Big Colors, has been canceled.
Retailers are now offering to return money already spent on advance orders and Adams' Pax-Am has deleted all pages that make mention of the album
This swift response stands in stark contrast to that of R Kelly, who saw streams of his music increase and was only dropped by his record label after public outcry in the wake of a documentary that featured interviews with multiple women who leveled accusations of rape, assault and abuse at the Chicago rapper.
Adams is currently under criminal investigation after he was accused of exposing himself to a minor in that expose.
A woman by the name of Ava, now 20, told the Times that the singer appeared naked when they had sex calls on Skype and shared texts that show Adams lamenting the fact that she had not sent him photos of herself in some time.
The Times reported that the FBI had opened a probe on Thursday, which was being conducted by the agency's New York office.
That information came from an agent who asked for anonymity on account of the fact that he was not authorized to speak publicly on the subject.
So real: Seven women, including Adams' ex-wife Mandy Moore (above in 2010), accused him of manipulative behavior and of pursuing female artists for sex in the Times expose
One of these women was an underage bassist, whose allegations are the basis for the criminal investigation that is now underway by federal agents.
It is similar in many ways to the investigation carried out by the same bureau after DailyMail.com reported that Anthony Weiner had been sharing sexually graphic and nude messages with a 15-year-old high school student in North Carolina.
He is now serving a 21 month sentence as a result of that report.
'I never see pics of you anymore. You were blowing my mind,' Adams wrote in one of the over 3,000 texts the Times reviewed.
She had just turned 16 when Adams sent that text, and he was still married at the time to singer and actress Mandy Moore.
Adams, then 40, also had names for Ava's body parts at the time according to the Times.
Adams also expressed anxiety about Ava's age in texts.
'If people knew they would say I was like R Kelly lol,' he said in on text.
Later, after expressing a desire to touch her nipple, he wrote: 'And tell me that your mom is not gonna kill me if she finds out we even text.'
Adams responded to the allegations on Twitter Wednesday night.
'I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes. To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly,' wrote Adams.
'But the picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false. I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period.'
He later added: 'As someone who has always tried to spread joy through my music and my life, hearing that some people believe I caused them pain saddens me greatly. I am resolved to work to be the best man I can be. And I wish everyone compassion, understanding and healing.'
His lawyer, Andrew Brettler, added that the singer 'unequivocally denies that he ever engaged in inappropriate online sexual communications with someone he knew was underage.'
On Thursday, model Karen Elson also came forward to speak about her time with Adams, but said she was still not ready to share her story publicly.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
