Gisele Bündchen has revealed she numbed herself with cigarettes and alcohol during her doomed romance with Leonardo DiCaprio.
In a candid interview in this month's PORTER Magazine, the supermodel, 38, opened up on the difficult decision to walk away from the Oscar-winning actor, 44, who she dated from 2000-2005.
She said: 'No longer numbing myself with smoking, drinking and too much work, I was becoming more and more aware of things that I'd chosen not to look at.'

The Vogue coverstar admitted the final nail in the couple's ill-fated relationship was wanting different things.
She said: 'Was I alone in wanting to do some serious soul-searching while he stayed the same? In the end, unfortunately, the answer was yes.'
Gisele is now married to NFL icon Tom Brady, 41, with the pair sharing two children, Benjamin, nine, and Vivian, six.
The Revenant actor Leo has continued his 'modelizer' ways and has since dated catwalkers including Toni Garrn, Bar Refaeli, Eva Herzigova and Erin Heatherton.

He is now in a relationship with model-turned-actress Camila Morrone, 21.
Gisele's incredible runway career began in 1997 when she was cast in Alexander McQueen's spring 1998 'rain' ready-to-wear show.
The beauty reached icon status when she became a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2000, where she was known for her commanding presence on the runway.
But despite the confident exterior, the star said she felt anxious over the revealing outfits.
She said: 'Can I please cover my butt?' In the studio I don't mind, it's very controlled. But if you're on a runway, god knows.

'So, you'll notice, I usually had a little skirt or cape to wear. They were always very kind and accommodating when I said I did not feel comfortable.'
Gisele, who has remained at the top of the industry for more than two decades, admitted she had previously suffered from panic attacks.
She said: 'When I was going through my panic attacks, I didn't even feel like I could share with anyone. I thought maybe I don't have the right, everybody is going through so many difficult things in the world, and I don't have the right to feel this way.
'So I'd suppress it, and the more I suppressed it, the bigger it became.'
The Brazilian beauty paid tribute to her family of strong women, and said her close relatives were strikingly different from the models she encountered in the industry.

She said: 'I come from a family of six strong, beautiful women.
The way I grew up, we always supported each other, we helped each other, we loved each other. But when I left home, that's not what I felt with the other models.
'I did not understand why anyone would not want the best for me, when I wanted the best for everybody.'
The star, who since 2004, has been one of the highest paid models in the world credited her success in the industry to her hard work ethic.
She said: I don't know how I would have achieved anything in my life if I didn't have discipline.
'Discipline is my best friend! It propels you forward, makes you stick to things. It kind of puts you in the driver's seat, tells you that you are taking accountability for your actions. It makes you more confident.
'I definitely had my moments when people weren't very kind, but I've always been very professional, I never walked off a set. Whoever I'm working with, they trust I can do this job, so I have to deliver, always.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
