A sports commentator for the Alliance of American Football (AAF) was caught unexpectedly on a hot microphone uttering something about how 'nobody's watching' on Saturday.
The awkward moment occurred on a digital broadcast of commentary during halftime of the Arizona Hotshots and the Salt Lake Stallions game.
NFL Hall of Fame safety Rod Woodson was the one who spoke the phrase, which it's possible may be a common refrain for analysts to avoid the nerves that come with speaking to a large audience, and not necessarily a stab at low viewership for the AAF in its first couple of weeks.
Another similar show covering the AAF had almost the exact same mishap, with a broadcaster saying, 'Nobody’s watching, nobody’s listening, nobody cares,' into the mic, Yahoo! sports reported.
The league debuted two weeks ago on CBS.

A Twitter account with username @AAF_reddit posted a clip of the broadcast snafu involving Woodson on Saturday.
In Woodson's case, he made the comment, 'nobody’s watching, nobody cares, no one’s listening' after Marvin Lewis and Alex Flanagan were candidly riffing on a joke.
Lewis was making a reference to former New York Jets, now AAF Memphis Express quarterback, Christian Hackenberg’s low completion percentage.

The awkward moment occurred during a digital broadcast of commentary for the Arizona Hotshots and the Salt Lake Stallions game on Saturday. The Arizona Hotshots are pictured lining up against the Salt Lake Stallions during their AAF game at Rice Eccles Stadium on February 23 in Salt Lake City, Utah
The exchange between the broadcast team started with Lewis saying, 'Before we get there. Hack....Hacks about 50 percent [laughs]'
Flanagan then gave Lewis support on the joke, noting how their broadcast was digital so they had some leeway.
'[inaudible] say that on TV coach, I got you. We’re not on TV, we’re on Bleacher Report. It’s different,' Flanagan said.
At that point, Woodson's mic picked up him saying, 'Ahh nobody’s watching, nobody cares, no one’s listening.'
Woodson and Flanagan both tweeted explanations, with the same reason for what otherwise sounds like a low blow to their current jobs discussing the play in the AAF.
They claimed they were simply repeating a mantra to help them steady their nerves.
Flanagan wrote: 'In @TheAAF studios today telling Marvin Lewis a story of being young anchor at WSFA. To ease my nerves sports anchor Jeff Shearer would tell me "no one’s watching, no one cares, no one listens". @RodWoodson26 laughed, said it back. that was aired & totally taken out of context.
'Rod was laughing at the ridiculousness of me saying that, but I explained it helped me not get nervous if I didn’t worry what people watching might think. I feel horrible Rod is getting nasty tweets.'

Woodson echoed the sentiment, writing, 'Hot mics can sure miscapture a moment. A mantra.
'That’s what that was. @alex_flanagan & I both know viewership for AAF games is exceeding all expectations. I’m watching Memphis at Orlando right now. I hear Coach Spurrier is mic’d up, too! [microphone emoji]'
Ironically, AAF broadcasts are getting attention, as the new league finds its audience.
The CBS debut of the first game in the league from two weeks ago reported beat a broadcast of an NBA matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder on ABC.
The debut scored a 2.1 overnight rating.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
