«Breaking News» El Chapo's twins get lavish Barbie-themed 7th birthday party

The twin daughters of Mexican drug lord El Chapo have just celebrated their 7th birthday with an elaborate Barbie-themed extravaganza. 

Emma Coronel, the wife of Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman, threw the lavish birthday party for their young daughters, Emaly and Maria, in Mexico. 

The former Mexican beauty queen shared a photo of the pink party decor on Instagram on Monday, saying: 'My princess's birthday'.

The party featured huge arches made of pink balloons and an abundance of Barbie paraphernalia.

A ballroom with a chandelier was redesigned to be a giant pink Barbie Dreamhouse, complete with pink cakes, candy and a large Barbie neon sign.

The photo of the lurid pink decorations were quick to make headlines in Mexican media.

Maria and Emaly were born in the United States but live in their father's home state of Sinaloa.

The ex-Mexican beauty queen and her two daughters have been spotted at El Chapo's various court appearances in New York (pictured left in February) in the past year. He is currently locked up in a high security prison

The photo of the lurid pink decorations were quick to make headlines in Mexican media

It is not known if other members of the family were present at the party, including their grandmother Maria Consuelo Loera Lopez or El Chapo's two sons Archivaldo and Alfredo Guzman. 

But one thing is certain - El Chapo missed out on the lavish celebrations. 

The drug lord is currently locked up in a high security prison in New York following his extradition from Mexico in January last year.

He has been charged with 17 crimes, among them that of leading the extremely dangerous Sinaloa drug cartel and of transporting at least 200,000 kilos of cocaine to the US from Mexico.

His wife Emma, who he married in 2007, has US nationality. 

Emma and her two daughters have been spotted at El Chapo's various court appearances in New York in the past year.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
