«Breaking News» Saira Khan breaks down as she reveals how grateful she is for her adopted daughter's birth mother

Loose Women star Saira Khan broke down in tears today as she revealed how grateful she is for adopted daughter Amara's birth mother.

Saira, 48, explained how she and Amara, now seven, always say a 'little wish' for the  unknown woman who gave up her baby, describing her as a 'special lady'.

The broadcaster explained how she travelled to Pakistan to adopt a baby in 2011, after fertility problems meant she was unable to conceive a second biological child.

The mother-of-two described the moment she held tiny Amara in her arms for the first time, and said she thought instantly 'she's mine'.

Speaking on Loose Woman to mark Barnardo's Adoption Week campaign, Saira said: 'She was tiny. All I remember is when they put her  in my arms, I thought she is mine.

'Her huge eyes were staring back at me and I thought "Oh my goodness.'

The former Apprentice star explained how Amara had been put in a cradle by her birth mother, before being taken to an orphanage.

The cradles are put in public places such as bus shelters and supermarkets, along with a sign that says 'Please do not kill your baby'.

Breaking down in tears, Saira said: 'I want to say for whoever's out there, thank you for thinking of Amara and putting her in that cradle.

'Some babies don't get into the cradles for whatever reason.'

She later added: 'There's a special lady out there, who we always say a little wish for her. And to say thank you for what you've done for us.'

Saira explained how baby Amara spent seven days in intensive care because she was severely dehydrated, describing how at points it was 'touch and go'.

However, she said she never thought for a moment that she wouldn't be taking Amara back home with her.

'That bond when they put her in your arms. I said this baby is mine and whatever happens to her I am taking her back to the UK,' Saira said.

'I just blocked everything out and thought “she’s going to survive.”’

She continued: 'I am so grateful that I had fertility problems because otherwise I would never have this beautiful child in my life.'

Saira, who was later joined on the show by daughter Amara, explained how she is open with the youngster about the fact she is adopted.

'She knows I am her mummy and she has another tummy mummy,' she explained. 'It comes up in conversation but it's not a big deal.'

Saira made a documentary about her journey to Pakistan to adopt baby Amara, which includes the moment she met her for the first time.

The presenter also has nine-year-old son, Zac, with husband Steve, who was aged two at the time his baby sister was adopted.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
