«Breaking News» Arsenal given big boost ahead of trip to Newcastle as Lucas Torreira trains after calf scare

Lucas Torreira has given Arsenal a huge boost as he trained with his team-mates ahead of the trip to Newcastle on Saturday.

The midfielder had picked up a calf injury during Uruguay's 4-1 friendly victory over Mexico and was on the sidelines for the second half.

But it appears as if he will be fit for the Premier League clash at St James' Park after taking part in full Arsenal training under Unai Emery on Tuesday at London Colney.

In a picture posted on social media by Emery, the Uruguayan star was seen alongside his Gunners team-mates, including Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette, as they listened to their manager during the session.

Emery will be thankful to have Torreira fit and despite not starting him in Arsenal's opening four league games, the former Sampdoria man will be a key figure this season and is very much pushing for a start on the weekend.

Arsenal have looked much more assured when Torreira has come off the bench in their four league games so far.

Torreira will hope to start for Arsenal against Newcastle on Saturday in the Premier League

The 22-year-old came off the bench in the 70th minute to replace Matteo Guendouzi against Cardiff, and made an instant impact both in defence and attack.

Torreira set up Lacazette for the all-important goal as Emery's men ran out narrow 3-2 winners at the Cardiff City Stadium. 

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking for three league victories out of three on Sunday after beating West Ham at home prior to overcoming Cardiff.

Unai Emery's side have won their last two Premier League games against Cardiff and West Ham

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
