Investigators are searching for answers in the murder of a young married Marine who was found shot dead in a car with another woman - as his grieving wife reveals she doesn't know who the female is.
Christopher Truax Jr was found by authorities bleeding in a car that was parked in the middle of a San Diego street on Friday at about 12.30am.
The 21-year-old, who was an active duty Marine Corps Sergeant, died at the scene after suffering a single gunshot wound.
Authorities said a woman, who they haven't named publicly, had been sitting in the driver's seat of the car when Truax was shot.

She is considered a witness to the crime and not a suspect, according to authorities.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has not revealed how Truax knew the woman.
His heartbroken widow, Alexia Truax, revealed to 10News that she doesn't know who the female is.
Truax and his 20-year-old wife married in April last year and they have an 11-month-son together.
In the days following his death, Alexia shared video and photo tributes to her husband on social media as she desperately searches for answers.
'This hurts so much... I can feel it in my chest my heart aches. I’m so crushed,' she wrote on Facebook following the news of his death.

'My heart hurts so much and it kills me to know I will never be able to hear your voice again.
'Christopher, you were a remarkable man, lover and father. You were my companion, my love and friend, I love you forever. For now I can't wait to see you again.'

Truax had met his wife online before they arranged to meet when he came back from his deployment.
'We started talking and he told me he wanted to meet me, so when he came back from deployment, he came and visited me. From there we started dating and seeing each other back and forth," Alexia told 10News in an interview.

Alexia, who lived in Eagle Pass, Texas, moved to California with Truax after they married in April last year. She gave birth to their son in September last year.
She said she had only recently moved back to Texas with their son while Truax was about to start taking classes to become a Marine drill Instructor.
The Sheriff's department said deputies were patrolling late Friday when they found the vehicle parked in the middle of a street.
They found Truax inside bleeding from what witnesses told them was a gunshot wound.
Deputies called for backup and began providing first aid and CPR. They said Truax stopped breathing soon after and was pronounced dead after medics arrived.
They are investigating Truax's death as a homicide and have posted a $1,000 reward for any information about the gunman.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Unit at (858) 285 6330.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
