«Breaking News» Former Michigan State field hockey player claims she was 'raped by Larry Nassar in 1992'

A former Michigan State field hockey player filed a lawsuit on Monday claiming that she was raped and impregnated by disgraced doctor Larry Nassar in 1992, but school officials refused to investigate the allegations.

According to ESPN, Erika Davis was just 17 in 1992 when she claims she was  drugged and raped by Nassar, who was recently convicted of molesting hundreds of gymnasts while working for Michigan State and USA Gymnastics.

Davis claims police were prevented from investigating the rape by current Michigan State trustee George Perles, who coached the Spartans football team between 1983 and 1994 and had only recently stepped down from his role as athletic director at the time of the accusation in 1992.

Michigan State said Tuesday it's 'looking into the situation.' A message seeking comment was left for Perles.

According to the lawsuit, Davis claims that after suffering a knee injury, a coach suggested she visit Nassar, who is currently serving a 175-year sentence for first-degree criminal sexual conduct and possession of child pornography.

During that examination, Nassar allegedly performed a 'breast exam' as another man with a video camera recorded him touching her nipples with his hands and mouth. One week later, according to the lawsuit, Nassar drugged Davis and raped her during an examination.

At one point, Davis claimed in the suit, she glanced at the clock and noticed that she had been nearly unconscious for over an hour.

'Eventually, she could not keep her eyelids open and got very woozy,' the lawsuit reads. 'When she was less woozy a short time later, Plaintiff Erika witnessed Defendant Nassar raping her.'

At the time, Nassar was not a licensed physician, but an athletic trainer who had only recently started studying at Michigan State's College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Of the 333 complainants, many of whom were gymnasts at Michigan State or with USA Gymnastics, Davis is the first to claim that Nassar actually raped her.

According to the lawsuit, in May of 1992, Davis told Michigan State field hockey coach Martha Ludwig, who confronted Nassar and took from him the 'breast exam' video.

Ludwig approached Perles soon after, according to the filing, but he allegedly forced her to turn over the video. The lawsuit explains that 'the charges were dropped against the coach' after Ludwig relinquished the video, but it's unclear what charges are being referred to, and whether the 'coach' was Ludwig, Nassar, or someone else.

Davis claims she also told a dorm mother named 'Cheryl' about the rape in the summer of 1992 when she thought she might be pregnant. According to the lawsuit, Davis had not had intercourse besides the alleged rape.

Davis allegedly had a miscarriage before going to Michigan State police with two friends to report the rape

However, the lawsuit claims, the police told her he was powerless to help.

'The police told them that since she was an athlete, she had to report it to the athletic department,' read the filing. 'The detective explicitly told them that he was powerless to investigate anything that takes place to the athletic department and to go to the athletic department.'

That same sergeant told Davis that Perles was a 'powerful man' and even suggested she not proceed with allegations against Nassar.

Davis also claims that she lost her field hockey scholarship after reporting the alleged rape, and a school spokeswoman confirmed to ESPN that she had, in fact, been on the team in the early 1990s, but it remains unclear if she was on scholarship or not.

field hockey program in the early 1990s. They have not yet confirmed if she was on scholarship.

'We are deeply sorry for the abuses Larry Nassar has committed, and for the trauma experienced by all sexual assault survivors,' the university said in a statement in response to the new allegations. 'Sexual abuse, assault and relationship violence are not tolerated in our campus community. While the protocols and procedures mentioned in this lawsuit do not reflect how sexual assault claims are handled at MSU, we are taking the allegations very seriously and looking into the situation.'

Perles is still a trustee.

Monday was the deadline to file lawsuits against Michigan State and qualify for a portion of the $75 million that the school set aside for other Nassar victims.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
