First diners were up in arms over the restaurant trend of not serving dishes on plates.
And now people are taking to social media to take issue with cafés and pubs serving up 'deconstructed' food for customers to combine themselves.
From beans on toast to soup, it seems no type of food can escape this aggravating craze.
Not even the simple orange juice has avoided the 'deconstructed' treatment, with one punter being served up two oranges complete with a citrus presser.
People have been sharing the most outrageous examples on Twitter and Facebook, and the account We Want Plates has rounded up a few of the best.
These pictures will have you craving a traditional meal... and a normal plate.

Andy shared this picture of the deconstructed beans on toast he was served up in Manchester in March 2015. His measly portion of beans was presented in a glass jar with a stick of butter on top - complete with a tiny grater, presumably to increase spreadability. Luckily, it seems his coffee came fully constructed

For just €29 (£26), tourists in the French alps can have the pleasure of reconstructing their own spaghetti bolognese. Ed Smith was handed this meal at La Folie Douce, Val d'isere, in March 2016

Andrea Hadfield ordered an orange juice in August but what she was given wasn't quite ready yet. Luckily bar staff had helpfully halved two oranges for her to create her own incredibly fresh OJ

Jess McGuire was left angry, and rightfully so, after she paid $18 (£14) for this avocado on toast with feta that she had to construct herself. The writer asked: 'What next, being handed an avocado seed and told to farm the land and grow my own crop over several years before returning to the cafe to finally enjoy my breakfast?'

Paul Cuff was served up this deconstructed pulled pork burger back in August 2015 in Poplar, east London. He wrote: 'Pulled pork in a bun? We’ve got pork and bun. Mind putting together yourself? Sorry it resembles sick'

A café on the Belfast waterfront served up this deconstructed salted butter to Els Draeger in June 2016 - and it wasn't even on a plate

WeWantPlates shared this distinctly unappealing snap of deconstructed Vegemite on toast handed to Huon Oliver in April. They wrote: 'What you order: gourmet Vegemite on toast. What you get: a chopping board, cold toast, a leaf stuck on some butter and a reminder to take your dog to the vet'

Kelvin Cherry was served this deconstructed lemon meringue on a roof slate back in January 2016

Bill's restaurant served Neal from Farnborough, Hampshire, chunky veg with a side of soup for him to construct himself back in June 2016

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
