But on Wednesday, Australian singer Delta Goodrem looked relaxed and happy as she strolled around the streets of Los Angeles with a mystery male friend.

Delta, 33, kept things casual with a touch of glamour in a white collared shirt, which she left partly unbuttoned to reveal a hint of her lacy black bra.

The Born To Try singer wore washed-out skinny jeans featuring splits at the ankles in a bell bottom style, and stepped out in Balmain sandals.

Delta accessorised her look with large hoop earrings, thin gold necklaces, a silver bracelet and a chic leather shoulder bag.

She also wore a single silver ring on the index finger of her right hand, and several delicate gold rings on her other hand.

She kept her makeup to a minimum, save for a dark shade of lipstick and striking violet nail polish on her fingertips.

Delta made a nod to the urban sophisticate in dark hexagonal sunglasses, which complemented the tones of her windswept brunette hair.

By contrast, her unidentified male friend dressed down in a trucker cap, grey T-shirt, olive green jeans and black sneakers.

With his dishevelled hair, stubble and bookish round spectacles, he could easily have passed for a wannabe screenwriter or tech start-up guru.

Strolling around in the LA sunshine with a friend would be a welcome relief for Delta, who recently broke down over the health of her friend Olivia Newton-John.

'When I look at her... I find it so hard because it's quite personal actually,' a tearful Delta said in a preview for Channel Seven's Sunday Night program, which first aired on Wednesday.

Sunday Night host Melissa Doyle also hinted that Olivia - who has been receiving treatment for cancer - will be making an 'announcement' regarding her health.

'The interview Olivia Newton-John knew she had to do,' Melissa said in a voiceover, adding that the the actress 'wants to put the record straight while she can'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
