«Breaking News» West Ham's Manuel Pellegrini denies Lucas Perez refused to warm up

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has denied new boy Lucas Perez refused to warm up and enter their match against Everton as a second-half substitute. 

The summer signing was named on the bench for the clash at Goodison Park, in which the Hammers entered the second half with a 2-1 lead.  

Sky Sports reported that he refused to warm up after West Ham increased their margin to 3-1.

Perez was seen on camera in conversation with coach Xavi Valero on the substitutes' bench

'Maybe it looks like he refused but when I thought Marko [Arnautovic] was injured I called Lucas,' Pellegrini said.

'Then when I saw he was sitting on the bench and [Michail] Antonio was working I made the change with him. There wasn’t time for Perez to warm-up again and the change had to be made immediately.’ 

Cameras picked up footage of the former Arsenal man sat on the bench and being spoken to by one of the Hammers' coaching staff - fellow Spaniard and goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero.

The Hammers parted with £10million to bring the 30-year-old to the club in August, with Perez signing a three-year deal.

After making three appearances so far for the club, Perez is yet to score his first Hammers goal.

Boss Manuel Pellegrini opted to start the match at Goodison with first-choice forward Marko Arnautovic leading the line, while also handing a first start to another summer signing Andriy Yarmolenko, who scored twice.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
