«Breaking News» Tottenham forward Lucas Moura wins Premier League Player of the Month

Tottenham forwad Lucas Moura has been named as the Premier League Player of the Month for August.

Lucas, with a full pre-season under his belt, has been a revelation for Spurs so far and shone in the absence of Son Heung-min, who spent much of August in Indonesia at the Asian Games.

Former PSG star Lucas started all three of Tottenham's games in August — scoring his first Premier League goal in a 3-1 win over Fulham before bagging two in a 3-0 victory at Manchester United.

'It is difficult to explain what I am feeling,' Lucas told PremierLeague.com after the 26-year-old was given his prize at Tottenham's training ground.

'I am so happy because I know it is not easy to win this trophy.

'I waited a lot for this moment and I need to enjoy and to keep working because I believe I have much more that will come.'

Lucas had been nominated for the award along with Chelsea left back Marcos Alonso and Liverpool star Sadio Mane, while Neil Etheridge, Benjamin Mendy, Roberto Pereyra and Virgil van Dijk also made the shortlist.

The result was decided by a combination of votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and fans.

Alonso scored and assisted in Chelsea's 3-2 victory over Arsenal. He also played a big role in the winning goal which saw the Blues seal three points at Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Mane netted twice in Liverpool's season-opening thrashing of West Ham, before getting on the scoresheet as the Reds won 2-0 at Crystal Palace.

Former PSG ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
