«Breaking News» This Morning viewers baffled by woman's collection of WerePups

A woman who has spent $10,000 amassing a collection of dolls that resemble werewolf 'babies' left This Morning viewers scratching their heads on Tuesday.

Yvette Solomon, from Los Angeles, is the proud mother of eight werepups - dolls that have been created to look like small werewolves, who she considers her 'family'.

Yvette said many of the dolls have been made using her own or her husband's hair, while one has been fitted with the teeth of a dead cat, which were donated by a friend. The pups have their own nursery and she estimates that she has spent around $10,000 (£7,680) on her 'babies' and their clothes and accessories.

She was given her first doll - each of which can cost up to $1,000 - while she was going through chemotherapy to treat breast cancer, and credits the pleasure they brought her with helping her get through the ordeal.

This Morning viewers were baffled by the segment, with one tweeting simply: 'WTF am I watching?'

The werepups are made to order by US special effects artist Asia Eriksen, and can come with a range of extras like tails or ears.

Yvette's first werepups were Elias, who was dolled up like a Queen's Guard in honour of a recent visit to London, Talla, who wears a tutu, and Derby, who Yvette explained is actually a were-hyena.

She also has twins Jezebal and Anya, who each have a pentagon tattooed on their paws.  Another pup, dolled up like a skeleton, is called Voodoo Baby, and she also has Ezra, who is now somewhat fragile because he was the first one ever made by Asia.

Another werepup called Argyle has been made to look like a gorilla because, as Yvette explained, he is 'trans', or a werepup that identifies as a gorilla.

Argile the werepup has been fitted with the teeth of a cat that died on a farm owned by Yvette's friend.

Yvette admitted that she was also baffled by the werepups when she first saw them.

She said: 'The first time I saw one I did a quadruple take, I had to keep turning around and looking again because I wasn’t quite sure what I was seeing. Then I realised that it was a little werewolf baby and just fell in love.'

But she said she was too put off by the high price tag to buy one of her own.

Then she was diagnosed with a rare bilateral breast cancer that meant she had different types in both breasts and had to have a double mastectomy.

While she was going through chemo her friend surprised her with Elias, her first werepup and she began to build up her collection.

She revealed that she'd once had an awkward encounter with a woman in a hospital who believed the pup she was carrying was a real baby.

Yvette said: 'She comes in and she was like ''Oh your baby so tiny, what’s wrong with him?''. I told her ''We’re not sure, that’s why we’re going up to see the doctor.''

'She laid her hands on my arm and she looked me in my eyes and she said ''I’m going to go home and I’ll pray for you and your baby.'''

Her appearance on This Morning left viewers baffled.

One tweeted: 'I can’t actually quite believe what I’m seeing here, and I can’t quite understand how @Schofe has kept a straight face.'

'Wtf is this??' another posted.

A third wrote: 'Ok, I’ve tried to understand this werepup thing but if I try doing it anymore I’m going to need a drink.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
