From a Norman fortress college to William and Kate's former student digs, this list of university accommodation is impressive enough to satisfy even the most discerning undergraduate.
Stand-out features include vaulted dining halls, a glass-fronted restaurant and an art gallery housing world renowned collections.
The eight-strong selection was published today by Tatler magazine, who scoured England and Scotland for the 'smartest' student accommodation.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, all bar one - St Andrews - is a member of the Russell Group and Oxford and Cambridge are both represented.

St Salvator's Hall, St Andrews
As the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it is perhaps of little surprise St Andrews University's St Salvator's Hall makes Tatler's list.
The hall, built in 1930, is where the royal couple met as first-year students in 2001.
The hall - affectionately known as Sallies - boasts an impressive oak-paneled dining room, featuring a series of stained glass windows commemorating founders and benefactors of the University.
University College, Durham

Next on the list is University College, Durham, which is informally known as Castle thanks to its location in an actual Norman Fortress.
Some 850 have the privilege of living in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Formal dinners are hosted in the castle's breathtaking medieval banqueting hall.
Holland Hall, Exeter

Some 400 students stay at the residence each year, enjoying the benefit of meals in a glass-fronted restaurant.

Mylne's Court, Edinburgh

The historic Mylne's Court, in the heart of the Royal Mile, consists of three halls, Patrick Geddes, Philip Henman and Edward Salvesen.
It is situated in a bustling and lively location, popular with tourist hotspots and street performances in the heart of historic Edinburgh.
However undergraduate students hoping to bag a room will be left disappointed as the residence is reserved for postgraduate students only.
Churchill Hall, Bristol

The sprawling hall is home to some 2,000 students and has previously been voted the university's 'poshest'.
The catered hall is located in the North Residential Village, on the opposite side of the Clifton Downs from the majority of university buildings.
Its location means it has the benefit of a little extra space. Indeed its annex, the Holmes, shares its grounds with the university’s four-acre Botanic Garden.
Christ Church, Oxford

Uniquely among Oxford colleges, Christ Church has an important collection of Old Master paintings and drawings, housed in the purpose-built Picture Gallery.
It is also home to Oxford’s Cathedral, which has its own world-famous choir.
If that isn't impressive enough, its Great Hall was the inspiration behind the one featured in Harry Potter's Hogwarts.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
