Dr Ranj Singh has admitted it's been 'exhausting' combining his day job as a paediatric emergency medicine physician with his new role on Strictly Come Dancing.
The This Morning and CBeebies star has already become a firm favourite with fans, after the 2018 series of the BBC show kicked off on Saturday.
But in his new column for the Radio Times, Ranj reveals he's struggling to go from rehearsals with dance partner Janette Manrara to 13-hour night shifts at the hospital.

The doctor writes in his column that he initially wondered whether to accept his place on Strictly after only recently starting his day job at St Georges Hospital in London.
'After screaming in a train toilet as my agent broke the news over the phone (I dread to think what the other passengers thought), the reality started to sink in,' he admitted.
'How could I possibly do this? I had already organised the next six months of my life, including starting my new NHS job in a major trauma centre in London as a paediatric emergency medicine physician! But there was no way I could pass this up.'

While he's thrilled to be on board, Ranj added that the long hours have already taken its toll.
'Not only is dance choreography totally out of my comfort zone, but going from six hours of exhausting rehearsals straight into a 13-hour night shift at the hospital has definitely taken it out of me,' he wrote.
'There have been times when even standing up on my ward rounds has been a struggle, as my legs felt like jelly. And I’ve looked a right plonker trying to practise my steps down the corridors when nobody’s looking.'
The hard work paid off on Saturday though as Dr Ranj and Janette scored 27 for their Cha Cha Cha to Whitney Houston's How Will I Know, landing them third place on the leaderboard.
After their dance Dr Ranj admitted to host Claudia Winkleman that it had been an eventful week, confessing he had delivered a baby the night before: ‘Not only have I done night shifts at St George’s, I’ve also been rehearsing with this lovely lady and yesterday at 3.03am we welcomed the lovely Olivia into the world. It’s been a tiring week.’
In awe of her dance partner, Janette revealed: ‘One day he was up for 36 hours!’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
