«Breaking News» Sky Sports to show first 25 seconds of England game in black and white to honour Kick It Out

The first 25 seconds of England's friendly against Switzerland at the King Power Stadium will be broadcast in black and white to honour the 25th anniversary of football's anti-discrimination charity Kick It Out.

The picture on Sky Sports' coverage of the game will switch to black and white as the teams take the pitch, and it will be the first time England action has been broadcast without colour in nearly half a century.

The game, which kicks off at 8pm on Tuesday, has been dedicated to Kick It Out by the Football Association and England's players will show their support by warming up in branded t-shirts and entering the pitch alongside mascots chosen by the charity.

WHAT IS KICK IT OUT?

Founded in 1993, Kick It Out has played an important role in tackling discrimination in football.

Kick It Out works within the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusive practices and work for positive change.

Kick It Out continues to lead and co-ordinate equality and diversity training for professional footballers at all levels

It also provides support in the form of mentoring for young people who aspire to careers in the football industry through its annual conferences

In a statement, the FA's inclusion advisory board chairman Paul Elliott said: 'Kick It Out have been a catalyst for the change in English football both on and off the pitch and we're delighted to celebrate their inspirational work in promoting football for all.

'Hopefully the footage will encourage the millions of viewers at home to spend at least 25 seconds thinking about the importance of diversity in this beautiful game of ours.'

Kick It Out chair Lord Herman Ouseley said the charity was delighted with the gesture and hoped the footage would be a 'powerful reminder of how far football has come in the last 25 years to make the game a more open and diverse place'.

As reported by Sky Sports, this follows on from the FA's recent launch of the 'In Pursuit of Progress' campaign, which is part of their plan to ensure that the diversity of those leading and governing football better reflects what is seen on the pitch.

Founded in 1993, Kick It Out became an organisation four years later and works to tackle institutional discrimination across the game.

As stated on Kick It Out's official website, their objective is that football will be a sport where people flourish in a supportive community where fairness is openly and transparently practised and enforced.

It also works closely with other organisations to raise awareness of the impact of social media upon football-related hate crime and positively influence users.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
