«Breaking News» Sally Field mourns the death of her Smokey and the Bandit co-star and ex-boyfriend Burt Reynolds

Sally Field is mourning the death of her ex-boyfriend and co-star Burt Reynolds.

The former couple of five years starred in four films together, including 1977's Smokey And The Bandit and its 1980 sequel.

'There are times in your life that are so indelible, they never fade away. They stay alive, even 40 years later,' she told Us Weekly in a statement.

'My years with Burt never leave my mind. He will be in my history and my heart, for as long as I live. Rest, Buddy.' 

Reynolds passed away on Thursday, at the age of 82.

The couple met on the set of their iconic trucker comedy, and dated for five years, also co-starring in comedies Hooper and The End during that period, as well as Smokey And The Bandit II.

In a 2015 interview with Vanity Fair, Reynolds called Field 'the love of my life'.

'I miss her terribly. Even now, it’s hard on me,' he said. 'I don’t know why I was so stupid. Men are like that, you know. You find the perfect person, and then you do everything you can to screw it up.'

Reynolds had wives either side of his relationship with Field;  He was married to Judy Carne from 1963 to 1965, and to Loni Anderson from 1988 to 1993.

He had just one son, 30-year-old Quinton, whom he adopted with Anderson.

Field also had a spouse either side of the relationship; she was married to Steve Craig from 1968 to 1975; and to Alan Greisman from 1984 to 1993.

She shares sons Peter, 48, and Eli, 46, with her first husband, and son Samuel, 30, with her second.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
