Prince William has revealed The Gruffalo is a 'big hit' with his young children while meting the book's author Julia Donaldson.
The Duke of Cambridge, 36, told the writer 'I know who you are' as he met her at a conservation event at Kensington Palace on Monday.
The father-of-three said The Gruffalo was one of Prince George and Princess Charlotte's favourites as she spoke to Donaldson and the book's illustrator Axel Scheffler.
He also joked that George, five, would be 'keeping an eye' on the model rhino that the pair had decorated as part of an art installation.

After being introduced to Donaldson, 69, and Scheffler, 61, at the event, William said: 'I know who you are. It's a big hit in our household.'
The Gruffalo, first published in 1999, is a picture book that tells the story of a mouse who meets a gruffalo, which is a mix between a bear and a buffalo
William also spoke about the model rhino that had been decorated by the pair, as part of an art installation designed to raise awareness of the issue of poaching.
According to Hello!, he said: 'It's amazing, I love it. You can tell it's you guys. It's the eyes [of the animals] I think, you can always tell the eyes.'

William revealed that The Gruffalo was a 'big hit' with Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three (pictured together at the royal wedding in May)
William then joked that his eldest son George would be 'keeping an eye' on the rhino - which he revealed could be seen from the windows of Kensington Palace - if he knew it was on sale.
The prince also welcomed Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood and wife Sally Humphreys to Kensington Palace on Monday to celebrate the Tusk Rhino Trail.

The Duke, who is royal patron of non-profit organisation Tusk, spoke to the musician about his rhino design, saying: 'I knew you did music, I didn't know you could turn your hand to this.'
His decorated rhino - located in London's Carnaby Street - features the African savanna and incorporates the flags of the countries where the rhino roams.
A total of 21 rhinos will be on public display at iconic London sites until World Rhino Day on September 22.
Some of these were on display in the Kensington Palace gardens last night to mark the launch of the London-wide installation,
They will then be auctioned at Christie’s on October 9. The funds raised will provide vital support for Tusk's conservation projects protecting rhino and other iconic African species.
Tusk was established in 1990 at the height of the previous poaching crisis, when elephants and rhinos were slaughtered in their thousands to meet the demand of the illegal wildlife trade.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
