«Breaking News» Jenna Coleman dodges awkward One Show questions as they ask her about ex Richard Madden's Bodyguard

She split from Richard Madden in 2015 following a four-year on-off romance.

But Jenna Coleman had to discuss her ex on Monday despite their split, because her new show The Cry is replacing his hit BBC drama Bodyguard on Sunday nights.

Appearing on BBC's The One Show, the 32-year-old actress was asked about the thriller, and its recent finale, even though she was booked to promote her new series.

Jenna kept her cool as she was asked how The Cry would compare to Bodyguard, after it gripped the nation for six weeks.

Taking the questions in her stride, she said: 'I think it’s quite a different tone and pace perhaps. I watched all of Bodyguard and I thought it was fantastic.

'The first twenty minutes of that programme was [grand gesture]. But [The Cry is] quite a different feeling and it’s very much a psychological thriller.'

Some fans called out the uncomfortable discussion, as one wrote on Twitter: 'Feel so awkward for Jenna Coleman sat on #TheOneShow couch surrounded by people talking about how fabulous #Bodyguard was even though Richard Madden's her ex lollll (sic)'

Bodyguard achieved consolidated viewing figures of 10.4 million for its first episode, while the finale garnered a peak of 10.9 million viewers.

The Cry has big shoes to fill, but many expressed their excitement to see the new show that will be replacing BBC's biggest hit in a decade.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
