«Breaking News» Dylan and Ronan Farrow berate New York Magazine's 'hit job' on Mia Farrow

Siblings Dylan and Ronan Farrow have condemned New York Magazine article about Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn, defending their mother Mia Farrow against the couple's claims in the piece.

The statements came in response to a lengthy article in which Previn spoke out at length about her childhood, claiming Mia Farrow was neglectful and cruel as a mother and implying that her claim that Allen molested Dylan as a child was retribution for Previn and Allen's affair. 

'Thanks to my mother, I grew up in a wonderful home, filled with love, that she created,' Dylan said in a statement on Sunday evening.

'I have a message for the media and allies of Woody Allen: no one is 'parading me around as a victim' - I continue to be an adult woman making a credible allegation unchanged for two decades, backed up by evidence.'

Allen and Previn are seen together in 2000. They began dating in 1991, when she was about 21 and he was 56, and romantically entangled with her adoptive mother Mia Farrow

I owe everything I am to Mia Farrow. She is a devoted mom who went through hell for her family, all while creating a loving home for us. But that has never stopped Woody Allen and his allies from planting stories that attack and vilify my mother to deflect from my sister's credible allegation of abuse. 

As a brother and a son, I'm angry that New York Magazine would participate in this kind of hit job, written by a longtime admirer and friend of Woody Allen's. 

As a journalist, I'm shocked by the lack of care for the facts, the refusal to include eyewitness testimony that would contradict falsehoods in this piece, and the failure to print my sister's responses. Survivors of abuse deserve better. 

The article, which is sympathetic toward Previn and Allen, was written by the famed director's longtime friend, Daphne Merkin. She discloses in the article that Allen has been her friend 'for over four decades'.

Ronan, who has won a Pulitzer for his reporting on sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, also spoke out in a statement.

'As a brother and son, I'm angry that New York Magazine would participate in this kind of a hit job, written by a longtime admirer and friend of Woody Allen's,' wrote Ronan, Allen's purported biological son.

'As a journalist, I'm shocked by the lack of care for the facts, the refusal to include eyewitness testimony that would contradict falsehoods in this piece, and the failure to print my sister's responses,' Ronan continued.

Of Farrow's 11 surviving biological and adopted children, seven others also spoke out in a joint statement on Sunday.

'We love and stand by our mom, who has always been a caring and giving parent. None of us ever witnessed anything other than compassionate treatment in our home, which is why the courts granted sole custody to our mother of all her children,' the statement read. 

'We reject any effort to deflect from Dylan's allegation by trying to vilify our mom. While we would rather not have to speak publicly about this painful time in our lives, we also couldn't be silent as she is one again unfairly attacked.'

Woody Allen molested me when I was seven years old, part of a documented pattern of inappropriate, abusive touching that led a judge to say there was no evidence that I was coached and that it was unsafe for me to be in Woody Allen's presence. 

The author has written about her friendship and infatuation with Woody Allen. The idea of letting a friend of an alleged predator write a one-sided piece attacking the credibility of his victim is disgusting. 

When New York Magazine contacted me, they described multiple obvious falsehoods. The author even suggested that my mother bribed me to lie with a doll that was not manufactured until years later. The story still includes bizarre fabrications about my mother while failing to mention that a prosecutor found probable cause of abuse by Woody Allen and that he was in therapy for his unhealthy fixation on my body. My mother never coached me, but she did stand by me, even when Woody Allen unleashed hell on her via lawyers and publicists and allies like the author of this piece. Thanks to my mother, I grew up in a wonderful home, filled with love, that she created. 

I have a message for the media and allies of Woody Allen: no one is 'parading me around as a victim' - I continue to be an adult woman making a credible allegation unchanged for two decades, backed up by evidence. My only hesitation has been the way my mother is targeted as a result, as it the case here. 

Shame on New York Magazine. 

Aside from Soon-Yi Previn, Moses Farrow is the only of Mia Farrow's children to speak out in defense of Allen, and to support Previn's claim of a harsh upbringing.

Like Previn, Moses was adopted by Farrow from an Asian country. 

Moses, now a therapist, described Farrow's parenting style to New York Magazine as a 'total breakdown of your spirit, to ensure that you would do what she wanted you to do.'  

'It's the honeymoon when you're first adopted, then the veil gets pulled back and you start seeing Mia for who she is,' he said. Farrow adopted Moses in 1989, when he was two.

Previn, going into great detail about her childhood in the interview with New York Magazine, paints a picture of Farrow as a neglectful mother who was furious over her affair with Allen and possibly sought revenge.

When Farrow discovered the affair in January 1992 by finding naked Polaroids of Previn in Allen's home, she declared 'He took my daughter, I'm going to take his,' according to Allen's sister Letty Aronson.

The enraged actress even sent Allen a disturbing collage that Valentine's Day, with a family photo on a flower-encrusted, gilded heart with skewers stuck through the hearts of the images of the children and a real knife through her own heart, Merkin claims.

Allen and Farrow shared custody of three children at the time: Dylan, Ronan, and Moses. Farrow also at the time had three biological children from her prior marriage, and two adopted children from the marriage, including Soon-Yi.

The alleged molestation of Dylan took place on August 4 of 1992, as the revelation of Previn and Allen's relationship continued to rock the family.

'Mia was so volatile. I understand she would be angry — don't get me wrong, she had every right to be. But she was like a sinkhole taking everything down with her,' Previn said in the new interview. 

The molestation claims were examined at the time. A judge found that it was 'unlikely that [Allen] could be successfully prosecuted for sexual abuse,' but denied Allen's custody claim for the children as well as visitation rights for Dylan.

New York State child-welfare investigators completed a second inquiry into the case, concluding that 'no credible evidence was found that [Dylan] has been abused or maltreated.' 

But the molestation allegation against Allen resurfaced in 2014, when Dylan penned an open letter published in the New York Times.

'He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother's electric train set,' she recalled.

'Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we'd go to Paris and I'd be a star in his movies,' she wrote.

A allegations disquieted many, but did not utterly derail Allen's career until the dawn of the  #MeToo era - which was launched in no small part by Ronan's own reporting on Weinstein.

Amazon has shelved Allen's latest film after paying $25 million for it - and may never release it. 

Celebrities including Colin Firth, Mira Sorvino, Timothée Chalamet, and Michael Caine have since said they regretted working with Allen in the past. 

Allen has claimed he was the 'poster boy' for the #MeToo movement, portraying himself as a victim and saying it was unfair he was linked with Harvey Weinstein.

'What bothers me is that I get linked in with them,' he said. 'People who have been accused by 20 women, 50 women, 100 women of abuse and abuse and abuse.'

'And I, who was only accused by one woman in a child custody case which was looked at and proven to be untrue, I get lumped in with these people.'

Allen also spoke out in the new article, lamenting: 'I am a pariah.'  

'People think that I was Soon-Yi's father, that I raped and married my underaged, retarded daughter,' Allen said.

The director added that Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign had returned his and Previn's donation without comment.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
