Police responded to a report of an active shooter at a commercial building in a suburb of Madison, Wisconsin that left four people injured, and the suspect shot and in critical.
The four victims who were shot and were taken to University Hospital, it is unclear the extent of their injuries.
'It appears the situation is stable now,' Middleton City Administrator Mike Davis told the State Journal, adding 'The bad news is that there were four injured by the suspect.'
The suspect was also injured and is in critical condition, Middleton officials said.
One woman was seen screaming as she was removed from the building. She said it was 'a devastating loss.'
In a clip posted by NBC15, a woman could be heard screaming repeatedly off camera.
The call of shots fired inside the building at 1850 Deming Way first came in around 10:30am local time.
Andrew King, an employee at TrafficCast, 1800 Deming Way, said he saw a man carrying a handgun inside the 1850 Deming Way building.
'I saw a dude walking with a gun inside the building,' King said. 'He was just walking with it, and I didn't see any shooting.'
Police, multiple ambulances and the FBI responded, while surrounding buildings, including schools, were placed on lockdown.
Dane County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Elise Schaffer confirmed that their office is assisting Middleton Police with the response.
Middleton is about 90 miles west of Milwaukee.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
