The Premiership reckons it will be a billion-pound business by 2025 - and if it showcases more games like this it will be.
Wasps against Exeter never usually disappoints and this was a high-class, high-scoring hoot.
The sides took 10 tries between them and both had bonus points, but it was Exeter who won thanks to a super showing from England pair Sam Simmonds and Henry Slade - who had two tries each.
There was a double scare for Wasps and England in defeat, with both Brad Shields and Nathan Hughes going off with injuries.
Shields must have thought he was still playing Super Rugby after the first half here - it was all hot-stepping, fast-paced, try-scoring fun in the first 40 minutes.
After just 20 we had four tries. Elliot Daly's was the pick. Six minutes in he performed a superb side-step to nip inside Ollie Devoto, then put his foot down and sprinted home from 40 metres out.
Then Exeter replied. Ollie Atkins took a lineout on the left side then the Chiefs sped right. Ian Whitten popped up in the midfield and found space before passing on to Phil Dollman. He flicked on before being nailed in a tackle and soon Santiago Cordero was away and in for the score.
The teams swapped scores again for the next two tries. First Billy Searle nudged a kick through for Josh Bassett on the left wing, and then Exeter smashed Wasps to pieces with a rolling maul - Simmonds at the bottom of a pile.
With all that it was 14-all, Searle and Gareth Steenson both making all their conversions.
There was still time for two more tries in the half. Next Slade ghosted through an alarmingly large gap, speeding past Shields and finishing well - the Chiefs should have had another soon after, but Wasps repelled the white waves well, holding them up over the line, then forcing a turnover when they hammered the resulting scrum.
And after a long Searle penalty Wasps scored their third. Dan Robson had the presence of mind to tap and go from a penalty 10 metres out, and fed the rampaging Nathan Hughes who could not be stopped. Searle converted which meant Wasps led by three at the break.
It was not to last after the interval, though. Simmonds scored again five minutes after the resumption from another close-range rumble and then when Slade had his second too - picking off a telegraphed Searle pass intended for Kieran Brookes and running it in from 70 metres out - Exeter led by nine, Steenson kicking both goals.
And there were injuries to add to those insults too. Shields took a sickening blow to the head, hitting Stuart Townsend's face and looked to have re-opened the cut above his right eye-brow which required five stitches after a training-ground blow last week.
Then Nathan Hughes followed him off, he trudged off gingerly having been whacked into touch by Tomas Francis.
There would be a tight finish though. As the rain came down Robson snuck in for a score which new-boy Lima Sopoaga converted to set up a nervy close.
But in the final minute, and after 22 phases, Don Armand turned out the lights on Wasps' resistance and scored the Chiefs' 12th try of the season after just two matches.
If your money is on them this year, at this point Exeter look a safe bet.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
