«Breaking News» Shocking message Miss Universe Australia received from a troll on Instagram - and how she hit back

Former Miss Universe Australia, Olivia Rogers, has hit back at a troll on Instagram, after she received a shocking direct message on the platform earlier this week.

The 26-year-old speech pathologist and model discovered the message in question when she was just about to go to bed on Tuesday evening and told FEMAIL her jaw dropped 'to the floor'.

'When I read the words, I was appalled, it shocked me how cruel someone can be to another person,' Olivia told Daily Mail Australia.

'It also scared me to think that they probably send similar messages to other people who might not be able to cope with it.'

Among other things, the message (pictured) told Olivia that she was 'wooden and fake', and 'no one actually cares about you anymore'

Among other things, the message told Olivia that she was 'wooden and fake', and 'no one actually cares about you anymore'.

'You came from a rich family, and the best private school in Adelaide,' the direct message began.

'Stop trying to spruik anxiety and depression. You actually have no f**king idea how other people have lived and what they have experienced. Have you experienced physical and sexual abuse? Have you witnessed drug overdoses with your family?

'I bet you didn't. So shut the f**k up and be grateful for what you actually have experienced in your life. No one is buying your anxiety bulls**t you prissy little Seymour b**ch.

'Get the actual f**k over yourself. Also, you were never going to win Miss Universe, you're too fat with no t*ts,' it concluded.

After she had read and re-read the message, and shown it to her boyfriend, Olivia (pictured) decided there was only one thing left to do - she would write back

'Hi. I wouldn't usually respond to a message like this, but it's so full of hate and comments that are obviously meant to hurt me - fortunately, I have a thick skin,' Olivia wrote (pictured)

She would write back.

She wrote: 'Hi. I wouldn't usually respond to a message like this, but it's so full of hate and comments that are obviously meant to hurt me - fortunately, I have a thick skin and it doesn't hurt me but it scares me that you probably send these horrible messages to lots of other people and it would affect them.

'I have never said I'm ungrateful for the life I've had and I never want to play the victim or have anyone feel sorry for me, I'm just trying to share my experience (which you don't know the half of) in order to break down stigma and hopefully help others to speak out.

'I don't know what your background is, but obviously you aren't very happy. I hope you can get some help and focus on yourself rather than trying to hurt others.'

Speaking to FEMAIL about the experience, the 26-year-old (pictured) confessed it has been hard to brush off the effects of the message

'I hope that by holding them accountable for the awful things they said to me, maybe they'll think twice next time before sending someone else a horrible message,' Olivia told FEMAIL (pictured: their exchange)

The troll then wrote back to Olivia, posting: 'You must have a thick skin, that is why you are responding. If your skin was thick, you wouldn't respond.'

Speaking to FEMAIL about the experience, the 26-year-old confessed it has been hard to brush off the effects of the message:

'I think social media can be so powerful and positive when you use it in the right way, but it's people like this troll that make others see social media in a negative light,' Olivia told Daily Mail Australia.

'The main reason I thought it was important to stand up to this person, and to trolls in general, is they need to know that their actions have consequences, they are affecting an actual human being.

'I hope that by holding them accountable for the awful things they said to me, maybe they'll think twice next time before sending someone else a horrible message.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
