«Breaking News» Meghan Markle and Harry meet young sports coaches at awards ceremony

She's signalled her determination to throw herself into all aspects of royal life.

And today, hot on the heels of her successful cookbook launch with the women of Grenfell last week, the Duchess of Sussex took part in a netball drill as she visited Loughborough University.

The royal - wearing a blue top by Oscar de la Renta, trousers by Altuzarra and stiletto heeled shoes - was joining her husband, Prince Harry, there at an awards ceremony for apprentice sports coaches.

Meghan arrived dressed in a top by Oscar de la Renta, trousers by Altuzarra and stiletto heeled shoes, while Harry was similarly casually dressed in a smart jacket, shirt and trousers.

The Coach Core Awards at Loughborough University will feature masterclasses from sports stars such as British tennis player Laura Robson, marathon runner Paula Radcliffe and England netballer Eboni Beckford-Chambers.

Harry - casually dressed in a smart jacket, shirt and trousers - was seen shooting hoops with former England batsman Mark Ramprakash, ex-England rugby player Ugo Monye and ex-US basketball star David Robinson.

The royal visit came as Sport England awarded the Royal Foundation a £995,500 National Lottery grant to double the reach of its Coach Core programme by adding 10 new sites in England over the next three years.

More than 200 apprentices will take part in a day of sports training and mentoring before the awards ceremony, designed to celebrate the achievements of young people who have taken part in the life-changing programme.

Established by The Royal Foundation in 2012 on the back of the London Olympics, Coach Core aims to harness the power of sport, and its ability to change lives and empower young people.

It connects those who are not in education or employment with the biggest sports clubs in the country, providing unrivalled tuition, paying them a wage, and setting them up for an exciting future.

The Duchess of Sussex really looks like she means business today.

She joined her husband at the Coach Core Awards at Loughborough University, wearing a pair of black Altuzarra trousers, which she teamed with a belted blouse by Oscar de la Renta. Add in a pair of sky high heels, and it might not have been particularly practical for playing netball, but it's a very smart look!

Half top, half blazer, this style features a wrap over front, an asymmetric peplum flare and a belted waist to create a flattering silhouette. Unfortunately it's not available to buy, but click (right) to take a closer look at this Resort '19 piece. Meghan is clearly a fan - remember the floral print dress she wore to a wedding back in June? Same collection!

Or recreate this sophisticated look with the help of our edit below. We've tracked down some top notch navy options from the likes of The Fold, Warehouse and Rachel Zoe.

At this year's Coach Core Awards, the Duke and Duchess will join graduates, new joiners and other apprentices to celebrate their achievements in categories including community outreach project of the year.

Other categories are graduate of the year, mentor of the year, educator of the year and apprentice of the year.

Their Royal Highnesses will meet some of the apprentices as they take part in drills and team games, before meeting this year's graduates.

They will then attend the awards ceremony, hosted by TV sports presenter Jake Humphrey. Both Harry and Meghan will each present a category, before the prince gives a closing speech to the young apprentices.

Last weekend, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went Dutch for a three-day party celebrating the launch of Soho House’s latest outpost in Amsterdam.

Joining the royal couple were a celebrity crowd including actors Douglas Booth, Eddie Redmayne and Jenna Coleman, who was linked to Prince Harry before his marriage to Meghan.

Guests such as Michael McIntyre, Fran Cutler and Nick Grimshaw were promised a long weekend of “eating, drinking, napping, dancing, boats and bikes” and were not disappointed.

Also on hand to mark the opening of the building — and coincidentally toast founder Nick Jones on his 55th birthday — were Lily Cole, Ella Eyre, Stanley Tucci and Richard Bacon.

The royal ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
