«Breaking News» Jenny Mollen shows off the VERY elaborate lunches she packs for her four-year-old son

Jenny Mollen wants to make sure her four-year-old son gets to try as many new foods as possible — even if she knows some of her efforts might be in vain.

The actress and writer, 39, frequently shares photos of the elaborate lunches she packs for her son Sid on her Instagram account, sometimes next to the humorous hashtag #dictatorlunches.

But while she takes pains to offer her four-year-old as varied a spread as possible, Jenny recently explained that she doesn't care if Sid actually eats all of his food, and that she just wants him to be constantly exposed to new options.

Jenny has two sons with actor Jason Biggs, 40: four-year-old Sid and Lazlo, 11 months old.

When Sid went back to school last week, Jenny took to Instagram to share a photo of his impressive lunch box.

On that day, Sid got to tuck into sautéed sesame salmon, rice balls shaped like hearts, a mix of avocado and yellow pepper, plant protein bites, dark chocolate made with coconut sugar, organic strawberries, and a mini salad topped with goat cheese and apples.

Jenny's fellow actress and mother Busy Philipps, 39, who has two daughters aged 10 and five, chimed in to compliment Jenny and ask whether Sid actually eats all of his food.

'It looks amazing,' she wrote. 'Does he eat it?'

But Jenny explained in her Instagram caption that her priority isn't to make sure Sid eats all of the tasty meals he brings to school.

'Note: I don't care how much of this he eats,' she wrote. 'It's more about constant exposure and pushing his limits.'

Offering the same food several times to children can be a way to help them expand their tastes. Some children might need to be presented with the same food 10 to 15 times before they're willing to try it according to Zero to Three, a nonprofit that helps parents and professionals care for infants.

Other Instagram users chimed in, including a nanny who deemed Jenny's take 'super powerful'.

'I'm a nanny and I always say if we don't give the kids good food they definitely won't eat it...' that person wrote. 'If we do then there's a better chance!'

Someone else, however, found the strategy wasteful.

Meal: In June, she posted a photo of one of Sid's lunches made out of carrot sticks and trail mix, shrimp and grits served with broccoli and cornbread, mango, strawberries, Greek yogurt topped with chocolate pieces, and the remains of one of her protein bars

'Cool so you don't care that you waste all that food just so he can be exposed to salmon and salad? Come on... I'm not even going to say how irresponsible that is,' that Instagram user wrote.

'I love that you want his tastes to be unlimited, but wasting food while children in our own country are starving... and can you tell me where that all came from? Local I hope..... but I'm guessing not.

'No one is impressed by your four-year-old having better lunches than 98 per cent of the rest of the world.'

Another parent said their own child would likely eat only the apples and rice featured in the lunch box, and that the rest would end up being 'wasted food and money'.

Jenny has shared plenty of photos of Sid's fancy lunches over the past few months.

In May, she shared an image of Sid's lunch box filled with satsuma orange slices, chips, a mini taco bowl topped with wild-caught trout, and coconut yogurt with berries, almonds, and chocolate slivers.

'This might be a cry for help. I NEED TO GET A F******G JOB FAST!' she wrote at the time.

On Monday, she joked that her son would be 'going full-on basic b***h' with a lunch of chickpea chips, cashew butter and fig jam rolls, apple slices, berries, yogurt, and a Ricola candy.

Back in June, she shared a snap of Sid's 'Southern-style' lunch that included pancake bites, chicken fingers, syrup, mac and cheese, strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream.

That same month, she posted a photo of one of Sid's pre-summer-break lunches made out of carrot sticks and trail mix, shrimp and grits served with broccoli and cornbread, mango, strawberries, Greek yogurt topped with chocolate pieces, and the remains of one of her protein bars.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
