«Breaking News» Heather Watson suffers semi-final heartbreak after she is knocked out of Coupe Banque Nationale

British No 3 Heather Watson suffered heartbreak as she narrowly failed to make the final of the Coupe Banque Nationale in Quebec City.

Bidding to reach her first WTA Tour final in two-and-a-half years, Watson was edged out 5-7 6-3 7-6 (7-5) by eighth seed Pauline Parmentier in a marathon contest lasting two hours and 35 minutes.

Watson had twice broken her opponent, ranked 38 places higher at 69 in the world, to take the advantage but was broken three times in the second as Parmentier pulled back level.

Watson looked to be the aggressor for large parts of the decider and did not face a single break point against her, but was unable to seize the initiative in the tie-break.

In the final Parmentier will face American qualifier Jessica Pegula, who continued her superb week with a 4-6 6-2 6-4 success against compatriot Sofia Kenin.

Seventeen-year-old qualifier Amanda Anisimova overcame number one seed Zhang Shuai of China to reach the final of the Hiroshima Open in Japan.

Anisimova's 7-6 (7/4) 7-5 win makes her the youngest player to reach a WTA Tour final since a then 16-year-old Donna Vekic in Birmingham in 2013.

The American will now target a stunning title win against Hsieh Su-wei after the Chinese Taipei player beat China's Wang Qiang 6-4 6-4.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
