Embarrassed: Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith has admitted she felt like an 'idiot' over the infamous Twitter blunder in scenes set to air on the Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday
The results for the 2017 final, which saw 7.7 million viewers tune in, was prematurely revealed in a Twitter gaffe by chef Prue, who quickly deleted her too-early congratulatory tweet after the mistake had been made.
She blamed her mistake on the time difference as she was in Bhutan at the time, which is five hours ahead of the UK. The mortified star apologised to loyal GBBO fans, admitting: 'I f***** up'.
During the interview on the late-night talk show, she confessed: 'I don’t think I’m ever going to live that down for as long as I live.'

Last year's edition: Prue was left embarrassed after she prematurely revealed the results of the 2017 final, which saw Sophie Faldo (pictured above) crowned as the winner
'I was in Bhutan and we hadn’t had any internet connection for about three days. I was having a siesta, I was in bed', the South African native explained.
Sharing more details about the mishap, she continued: 'I suddenly saw that I had a message saying, "Don’t forget to congratulate the winner after 10.30." So I looked at my watch and thought, "Ah it’s after 10.30" so I immediately tweeted it and 89 seconds later, my PA who is no fool had deleted it but by then two people had retweeted it.'
'I’m an idiot, but there we are. There was about 11 hours difference. I was in such a panic when I realised what I’d done, I couldn’t make my phone work so I couldn’t delete it myself so I had to ring my secretary and when I got through to her she said she’d already deleted it. It was horrible. Everybody went on to tell me I’d ruined it.'

Poking fun at the gaffe, new father Noel, 45, chimed in: 'I’m going to give away the winner this year to make Prue feel better!'
Meanwhile, Paul has been branded too 'liberal' by viewers as he has given out more of his signature handshakes on the current season than any other edition.
Speaking on the coveted sign of approval, the celebrity chef said: 'I’ve taken a bit of flack over that. The handshake came from when they looked very professional and they almost cross that line from being amateur to professional.'
He also touched where his trademark handshake originated from: 'It started in series two, I just shook someone’s hand and said, "Well done." And every year the standard has got better and better and better and this year has been phenomenal. Some of the flavours they are bringing out. Rahul [Mandal’s] stuff has been incredible.'

Candid: Speaking on the coveted sign of approval, the celebrity chef said viewers can expect to see a decrease in how often he gives out his handshakes in future episodes
Insisting there will be a decrease in how often he gives them out in future episodes, Paul revealed: 'You will see it happen [in a few weeks] the handshakes almost stop. Because what I’ve done is I’ve realised they are all moving up in standard so I’ve got to move my barrier up so that’s exactly what I do, I raise the bar and then no one gets over the top of it.'
Aside from his hosting stint on the show, comedian Noel opened up about fatherhood, after welcoming his first child Dali with long-term partner Lliana Bird in April.
The Never Mind the Buzzcocks star gushed over his daughter's appearance: 'I don’t know how that happened, look at my pointy visage. She is very beautiful and she blows my mind about a hundred times a day.'
Admitting that the role as come with some challenges, Noel continued: 'It’s a new level of tiredness that I’ve never experienced. I’ve done a lot of all nighters in my life. In a way I’ve been in training for this moment all my life.'
The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 10.05pm on ITV.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
