«Breaking News» From fashion CEO to a chocolatier worth $216 MILLION: Australia's richest women under 40

In recent years, it has become evident that there is no single recipe for success and no one path to financial prosperity.

As the way we do business evolves to keep pace with digital developments and technological advances, both qualified and self-taught professionals are rising to the top of their respective games to become Australia's richest young women.

From a self-taught chocolatier to a university drop out turned multi-millionaire graphic designer, FEMAIL delved into the backgrounds of some the country's wealthiest women under 40, as named by the Financial Review and the Daily Telegraph.

THE CHOCOLATIER AND DIGITAL MARKETPLACE CREATOR - CYAN TA'EED

Taking the top spot is 37-year-old Cyan Ta'eed, founder of ethical chocolate company Hey Tiger and co-founder of digital creative services marketplace Envato.

After graduating with a degree in graphic design, Ms Ta'eed longed to forge her own path and create a business she could build from scratch and retain control over.

Launching the idea for a creative services platform from her parents Melbourne garage in 2006, Ms Ta'eed and her husband Collis went on to grow Envato into an online community of more than eight million creative professionals.

The entrepreneurial pair are now worth a combined total of $216 million.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Ms Ta'eed said the most important things she has learnt are to set ambitious goals, continuously develop skills and identify your strengths and weaknesses.

On the back of Envato's success, the tech founder went on to diversify her portfolio in 2016 with an ethical chocolate business called Hey Tiger, an 'eclectic mix of 16 different flavours' marketed for women.

Hey Tiger now has seven employees while Ms Ta'eed continues to sit on the board of Envato.

THE BIKINI DESIGNER - ERIN DEERING

Founder of global swimwear brand Triangl Erin Deering has been described as a trailblazer and one of Australia's most savvy entrepreneurs.

After struggling to find a stylish bikini for under $200 for her second date with her future husband, former AFL footballer Craig Ellis, Ms Deering spotted a gap in the market for designer swimwear that was both affordable and accessible.

Now 33, Ms Deering's sartorial pursuits have netted her a reported personal worth of $32 million.

Since launching in 2012, Triangl is believed to have generated a steadily increasing annual profit from $5 million in its first year to a reported $60 million in 2017.

International celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Miley Cyrus and even Beyonce have all been spotted sporting the chic but functional designs.

The business currently boasts 2.7 million followers on Instagram and claims to be 'the world's fastest growing swimwear brand'.

While primarily based in the luxury European enclave of Monaco, Ms Deering and her husband reportedly paid $5 million for a sought after Bondi Beach apartment earlier this year.

THE FASHION CEO - JANE LU

Jane Lu has made a name for herself by running things her own way in business.

After quitting her corporate accounting job at the tender age of 18 and quickly falling into debt, the Sydney based entrepreneur went on to start fashion e-store, Showpo, from her parents' garage in 2010.

Showpo has since become a multi-million dollar style empire, with annual sales of more than $30 million last year and an impressive Instagram following of 1.4 million.

Ms Lu herself is worth an estimated $32 million.

The label is known for its strong social media presence which 32-year-old Ms Lu successfully uses to position the brand with fans.

And when it comes to human resources, Ms Lu does things differently.

She is known for taking employees on impromptu weekend trips to Byron Bay and on boats around Sydney Harbour - all a far cry from the 'cubicle' life of her former corporate career.

'The best part is that my parents, who gave up so much for me to immigrate here from China, don't have to stress about money anymore.

'I can't believe I can offer them that,' Ms Lu previously told FEMAIL.

'It's bizarre to consider myself as a role model, but my story definitely resonated with a lot of people…it is possible to succeed without funding or experience, and it is possible to build your dream career,' Ms Lu told The Daily Telegraph.

THE DIGITAL PERSONAL TRAINER – KAYLA ITSINES

Kayla Itsines has built a global empire by inspiring women to get fit and healthy.

Alongside her fiancé Tobi Pearce, 27-year-old Ms Itsines launched the Sweat With Kayla fitness app as well as the popular Bikini Body Guide which took the weight loss industry by storm around the world.

The toned duo are worth an estimated total of $63 million combined, while Ms Itsines also made this year's 'Instagram Rich List' nabbing sixth place.

According to Hopper HQ, the exercise guru's 9.9 million social fan base earns her an impressive $15,000 per endorsement post.

Speaking to Collective Hub previously, Kayla said it's her authenticity, helpfulness and ability to 'stick to my morals' that have helped her relate to others online and in business.

'People could see me who knew me years ago and still be like, 'You're the same person then as you are today'. When they meet me, they're like, 'You're exactly the same',' she said.

'I'm literally just doing what I love, 'cause I love helping people. I'm weird. Like, if you said, 'Oh, my nail's chipped' I would run - run - go get you nail polish remover and repaint your nails.

'Nothing is beneath me. So, yeah, I just like helping people.'

THE GRAPHIC DESIGNER - MELANIE PERKINS

When Perth born Melanie Perkins was just 22 years old, she flew to California to ask a well-known technology investor for financial backing for her graphic design website.

The young entrepreneur dropped out of university in order to follow her dreams into the world of publishing, a journey which led her to create Canva, an online tool for designing greeting cards, posters, websites and calendars.

Less than ten years later, Ms Perkins and her long term boyfriend and Canva co-founder Cliff Obrecht are worth a combined total of $128 million.

Today, the Sydney based business is valued at more than $1 billion and boasts 10 million users across 179 countries.

The idea for Canva was born in her mother's lounge when the then communications student grew tired of how difficult it was to learn the basics of digital design.

Just like Ms Ta'eed, Ms Perkins and her partner set up shop in her family home and borrowed from relatives to launch the company.

Within two years the platform had become Australia's largest school yearbook publisher, as well as expanding operations to France and New Zealand.

Today, Ms Perkins employs more than 200 people at global headquarters across Sydney, Manila and San Francisco.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
