Carrie Underwood has addressed the controversial topic of gun violence in a new song called The Bullet.
The track, which is from the star's upcoming album Cry Pretty, was 'partially motivated' by the Mandalay Bay mass shooting that saw gunman Stephen Paddock kill 58 people and leave over 800 injured at a Las Vegas country music festival last year.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, the 35-year-old said: 'It’s a beautiful and powerful song, and I thought for a long time whether or not I was the one to deliver its message.'

Hesitant to say anything that could become too controversial, the songstress continued: 'Unfortunately, too many events have happened and not just on a grand scale … any word I say right now is gonna be wrong.'
Without revealing any specific political stance, Underwood explained that 'many people' will be able to relate to the song, from police officers to the military to 'people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.'
She added that it was a song that 'needed to be sung.'
Fans will be able to listen to The Bullet when the singer's sixth studio album, Cry Pretty, drops on September 14.

Fellow country singer Jason Aldean was the headline act at the Route 91 Harvest Festival last October when Stephen Paddock opened fire on innocent civilians nearby.
Aldean was in the middle of his set when Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay, which left 59 people dead and over 800 injured in America’s deadliest mass shooting.
The attack had a profound effect on the country superstar's view on guns.

Aldean is a gun owner, but later came out to say that the laws surrounding the purchase of guns are flawed.
‘It's too easy to get guns, first and foremost,’ he told the Associated Press. ‘When you can walk in somewhere and you can get one in 5 minutes, do a background check that takes 5 minutes, like how in-depth is that background check?
‘Those are the issues I have. It's not necessarily the guns themselves or that I don't think people should have guns. I have a lot of them.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
