«Breaking News» Bodies of missing British millionaire and his wife are found

The bodies of a retired British businessman and his Thai wife have been found in their garden.

Three hitmen have admitted killing Alan Hogg, 64, and his wife Nott, 61, after they were hired by her brother for £1,275, police say.

The bodies were found by sniffer dogs today two metres deep outside their home in Phrae, northern Thailand.

Police searched for the couple after they were reported missing on Thursday.

A concerned friend raised the alarm when he went to their home  and found blood on the walls of the swimming pool changing room.

There were signs someone had tried to wipe it away and the couple's brand new white Ford Ranger pick-up truck had been stolen.

The wife's brother, Warut Satchakit, was arrested over the disappearance after CCTV showed him entering the home and stealing the car on Thursday.

He was then released on bail with a £2,350 bond paid by his relatives after he denied any involvement but admitted stealing the motor.

Officers continued their hunt today checking the couple's home, swimming pool, reviewing CCTV footage from the area and ordering police divers to scour nearby rivers. The couple's daughter, who lives in England, also flew in to help the search.

Major General Sanpat Praputsra said: 'The progress of the case is moving well and we're in control. Officers are working on the investigation day and night.

'The couple disappeared without any clues. We are trying to track the car because there is no trace of it.

'The issue is likely to be a long-standing conflict within the family. We cannot find any other situations that are likely to have caused this.

'The brother-in-law had problems with money and there were family issues.'

Mr Hogg, originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, arrived in Thailand several years ago having worked as an engineer in Australia. He was still involved with a number of businesses in the UK.

He built a sprawling three-story home and outdoor pool with changing rooms, snooker table, and summer house, on a vast plot of land with a gated entrance in the remote northern region himself.

Neighbours described his wife as 'the most beautiful woman in the town' and said that Mr Hogg was 'very friendly' and often helped them. They told local media that he was a 'millionaire'.

Major General Praputsra said that Alan's brother-in-law denied any involvement in their disappearance and police did not have enough evidence to charge him.

He added: 'The brother has been released on bail and charged with burglary at night for stealing the vehicle. He said he was only on the grounds of the property to take the car.

'The evidence in the disappearance must be clear and we are continuing to investigate as quickly and accurately as possible.

'Senior police from the area are working on the case. We are certain that the disappearance comes from a family feud with Thai relatives. I am confident that we can find the offender and conclude the case successfully.'

Mr Hogg is listed at Companies House as an active director of Clayfull Ltd, which operates a dry cleaning firm called PLS Laundy in Bonnyrigg, Edinburgh.

He was also a former director of Sherwood Edinburgh Limited. Mr Hogg worked as an engineer and his occupation is listed as Offshore Construction Manager.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
