«Breaking News» Barnsley: Police put city centre on lockdown

Barnsley has been put on lockdown amid unconfirmed reports of a knife attack.

Police confirmed a 'serious incident' had occured in the town centre, as locals told of how a woman with a machete stabbed a person.

People in the town have been told to stay away from the town centre as a heavy police presence is now in place. 

One man tweeted: 'Mam's just called, she's in Barnsley locked in M&S as there is a woman running around town with a knife... anyone in or heading to town take car!'

South Yorkshire Police said on Twitter: 'BREAKING: There is a high visibility police presence in #Barnsley town centre this morning (Saturday 8 September) responding to a serious incident.

'More information will follow. Public are asked to be vigilant and report any concerns to 101.'    

Unconfirmed reports suggest that a woman was arrested at a bus stop.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
