Vladimir Putin claims Russia's new weapons have no foreign equivalents and will help ensure the country's security for decades.
The Russian president, speaking during a meeting with military chiefs in Moscow, specifically mentioned the new Kinzhal hypersonic missile and the 'invincible' Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle.
Kinzhal has already been commissioned by the military; defence minister Sergei Shoigu said aircraft carrying the missiles have flown 89 patrol missions this year.
Mr Shoigu said the Avangard will enter service next year.

Earlier this year Mr Putin said that the ferocious missile delivery system could travel at 20 times the speed of sound and can launch missiles from the north and south poles within minutes - making it capable of penetrating any missile defence system.
The Avangard glide vehicle is designed to sit atop an intercontinental ballistic missile.
Once launched, it uses aerodynamics to sail above the atmosphere.
It is loaded with advanced countermeasure systems that allow it to skirt around missile defence systems.
The Russians claim their system is also highly unpredictable due to an exceptional manoeuvrability, making them almost impossible to track.
Mr Putin described his hypersonic arsenal as 'invincible' during a state-of-the-nation address in March.
He claimed Avangard strikes 'like a meteorite, like a fireball' and was capable of reaching targets at 20 times the speed of sound.

On Tuesday Mr Putin told his military conference that they would have to respond to the planned US withdrawal from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
He reaffirmed a strong denial of Washington's claim that Russia had violated the pact, and blamed the US for breaking it.
According to RT, the pro-Kremlin news agency, Putin said: 'They blatantly violate it and make hypothetical, unfounded claims against us.'
He continued, by saying that a U.S. withdrawal was 'one step towards an arms race.'
The United States delivered Russia a 60-day ultimatum earlier this month to come clean about what Washington says is a violation of the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty between Moscow and Washington.
The pact, signed by former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and President Ronald Reagan in 1987, keeps intermediate-range U.S. and Russian missiles out of Europe.
Washington has spoken of quitting the treaty altogether unless Russia returns to what it calls 'full and verifiable compliance.'
Moscow denies it is in breach of the treaty and accuses the United States of violating it.
Both sides have noted that other countries remain free to develop weapons banned under the treaty, and the U.S. in particular raised concerns about China.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
