Kym told The Sun Online at the Military Awards last week: 'He is due to go back to Afghanistan next year for six months. It is tough, but I know we can make it work and we will be fine.

'He's just got back from a training exercise in Kenya, so tonight was the first time we have seen each other in weeks.

'It feels very special to us to be here together - and now he's back for Christmas, it's a lovely feeling.'

MailOnline has contacted Kym Marsh's representatives for comment.

The Christmas will no doubt be incredibly special for Kym and her family, after she recently announced she's set to become a grandmother for the first time as her daughter Emilie, 21, is set to welcome her baby boy.

Taking to her widely-followed Twitter account recently, she posted a snap of the aspiring singer hugging her partner over the exciting news, with blue party confetti to ring in the celebration.

Last month, the soap star told OK magazine she understands how her daughter is feeling having given birth to her own son David at just 18, but is excited about the new addition to the family.

Along with Emilie and David, 23, Kym is also mum to daughter Pollie, seven, and son Archie, who died moments after his premature birth in 2009.

The former Hear'Say star explained she hopes her own experience as a young mum will help Emilie through her pregnancy, revealing that she sat alongside her daughter when she took the pregnancy test.

Pregnant Emilie said: 'I keep thinking, am I really going to be able to do this? For ages I couldn't actually get the words 'I'm pregnant' out of my mouth because I didn't know how people would react – I even made Mum tell my dad!

'Luckily I have the most supportive parents in the world and they're both really excited.'

Kym added: 'Being a young mum seems to be a pattern in my family. My mum was 18 when she had my brother, my sister was 18 when she fell pregnant and so was I.

'I've warned her that it's going to be hard work, but I've also said that there are a lot of positives to being a young mum, too.

'There were times when I struggled because your life changes so much when you have a child especially when you are young, but I wouldn't change what I have now for the world.

'Me, Emilie and David are best friends and I think that's because there isn't a huge age gap between us.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
