A woman has revealed that while she was pregnant with her first child, her mother asked her to have an elective Caesarean so that she could get discount train tickets to attend the birth.
This Morning viewer Lucy called in for the daytime show's 'Am I Being Unreasonable' discussion to explain why she doesn't want to invite her mother to her upcoming wedding.
The mother-of-one, who lives in the south, said that her mother, who lives in the north, had been reluctant to travel to spend time with her while she was pregnant because of the cost of the train journey.
As it turned out that she needed to be induced, but when she gave her mother the date she argued that she couldn't come as it was too close to Christmas.
Since the birth a few years ago her mother has only met her grandchild once and has offered her daughter very little support.

Vanessa Feltz was on hand to offer advice to This Morning callers about whether they were being unreasonable with their life decisions, telling one woman she agreed with her choice not to invite her mother to her wedding
Speaking to agony aunt and broadcaster Vanessa Feltz, Lucy explained that she was initially unsure if her mother was being unreasonable in her demand for her to have a C-section.
'I didn’t know what to think of it because I didn’t know much about pregnancy or how it went or birth.
'Then when I looked into it a little bit more I thought it was a bit absurd to be honest.'
Presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were clearly taken aback as Lucy explained during the phone-in segment that her mother had 'struggled' to be supportive.
'I live down south and she lives up north and I wanted her to be a part of my pregnancy but she was very reluctant to come down because of the train journey.
'Then she wanted me to have an elective C-section because then she would know the exact date for her train tickets to come down.'

Presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were aghast to hear that the mother of the caller had requested her daughter arrange a cesarean so it would suit her own schedule
As everyone looked aghast at the demand Lucy added that she thought it was 'absurd' when she researched it.
However, due to health reasons Lucy said that she was told by doctors that she would need to be induced early and promptly told her mother.
'I gave my mother a week’s notice, I said that in a week’s time I will be induced on this date could you come down.
'But she said she couldn’t because it was too close to Christmas, it was three days before Christmas.'

The presenters both laughed as they listened to Vanessa's advice, urging the woman not to let her mother overshadow her big day after she had received no support from her in the past
Lucy wanted to know if she was being unreasonable not inviting her mother to her wedding because she didn't want her behaviour to overshadow her big day.
Holly and Phillip tried their best to be balanced and assess the situation but Lucy was firm in her decision and Vanessa backed her.
‘On the other hand do you want somebody so unreasonable raining all over your parade?' Vanessa asked.
‘You’ve got to the point where you have the baby and the man that loves you. If she’s there she might end up being like Maleficent looming over the entire wedding.
‘I think if you don’t want to, don’t. You’re a grown up, I don’t think you’re being unreasonable. I wouldn’t invite her.'
Debbie said that her daughter was causing tension in their household and Vanessa suggested that she tell her to she was providing a roof over her head and should respect her mother's property.
And for disappointed Lauren, who felt left out of her brother's wedding, Vanessa said: 'She is entitled to feel really annoyed and should reflect it in the Christmas present you give her.'
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
