Eden Hazard bagged a hat-trick in the 4-1 thrashing of Cardiff City after the visitors took a shock lead through Sol Bamba.

The 27-year-old is currently the top goalscorer in the Premier League with five as the Blues sit pretty at the top of the table with a perfect record.

Here, Sportsmail's JAMIE REDKNAPP, MARTIN KEOWN and CHRIS SUTTON give their verdict on Chelsea's Belgian talisman.

If you were choosing a Premier League fantasy team right now, Eden Hazard would be first pick.

He was unlucky not to be named player of the World Cup. Had Belgium gone all the way, I am sure he would have won that award. Some of the things he was doing in Russia were out of this world.

I bracket him with Neymar. What has stopped Hazard from becoming the greatest is that he does not have the same killer instinct in front of goal as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

This was Hazard’s first hat-trick for Chelsea since a 3-0 win over Newcastle in February 2014. Ronaldo and Messi have scored them at will throughout their careers.

Maurizio Sarri has used him intelligently, first as an impact substitute before restoring him to the starting XI.

It means that in Hazard’s mind he has had a break after the World Cup and is raring to go. The challenge for him now is to have a season like Mo Salah last year and get 40-odd goals.

MARTIN KEOWN 

He has started the season superbly but if Eden Hazard wants to be considered the best in Europe, he must join the queue. He is behind Luka Modric, who won the European Cup, played in the World Cup final and was named the best player in Russia.

Kylian Mbappe became the first teenager since Pele to score in a World Cup final. Gareth Bale hit a wonderstrike in the Champions League final. We have not even mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Hazard can be the top player in world football but he must be more consistent.

He is clearly having fun working for Maurizio Sarri and embracing his new-found freedom in this Chelsea team. Keep this up and Hazard is in for a big year.

Eden Hazard is without question the most in-form player in Europe.

Lionel Messi did not meet his usual impeccable standards at the World Cup and it has taken Cristiano Ronaldo four games to get up and running at Juventus.

After being the driving force behind Belgium’s run to the semis in Russia, Hazard has returned to Chelsea full of energy, sharpness and power.

Maurizio Sarri has given him a new lease of life. No longer shackled by the false nine role Antonio Conte made him play, Hazard is thriving alongside a centre forward in Olivier Giroud who allows him to burst on to balls with electric pace.

Right now, there is no better player in Europe. Whether he can dethrone Messi and Ronaldo depends on where his displays take Chelsea.

Inspire them to the league title this season and a serious tilt at the Champions League the following year… then Hazard will justify his manager’s claim.

Hazard is the most in-form player in Europe at the moment - Ronaldo has just got off the mark

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
