«Breaking News» The Sex Pistols star John Lydon, 62, is worlds away from his hell-raising punk heyday

He’s best known for his antics as lead singer of iconic seventies punk band The Sex Pistols.

But John Lydon’s hell-raising days appeared to be far behind him as he made his way across LAX International airport in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The iconic singer, 62, looked relaxed in a loose fitting striped shirt and matching trousers as he retrieved his luggage after returning to California, where he has lived since the early 1980s.

Taking the weight off his feet, John relaxed on a seat after wheeling his case across the arrivals lounge.

The star - who performs as Johnny Rotten - has kept a relatively low profile of late, making a rare public appearance with his wife at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York last April to attend the premiere of his new film Public Image Is Rotten.

The Public Image Is Rotten is a film about Public Image Ltd., the chaotic band that John put together after the Sex Pistols split up in 1978 and which he has kept going for over 40 years.

Last year John recently proved that he could still live the rock 'n' roll lifestyle, as he was reportedly refused entry into a party launched on behalf of the film in October.

According to The Sun, John was refused entry from a nearby bar three times, despite the party being hosted for him.

An insider told the paper: 'Only Johnny Rotten could be banned from his own party, but he was barely able to stand. He played the perfect hell-raiser.'

The punk star previously spoke about his alter ego, the gnarly, anarchic, snarling and slurring Johnny Rotten.

'Johnny Rotten was a piece of work,' he admitted in the documentary. 'I wanted to be Johnny Rotten.'

He also spoke movingly of his wife Nora, telling The Telegraph that she was a 'saucy girl'.

'She's not public fodder, she's a very private person. But it's love, you know. I've always loved that woman.

'When we met we didn't expect to get on. We'd both been told the other was a bad 'un. But blimey. Sparks flew. It was instant attraction.

'And that's never gone. I never expected to feel like that. I never thought I was in any way attractive. Or anyone's idea of a good date.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
