«Breaking News» Ralf Rangnick reveals he has a 'wheel of fortune' to dish out player punishments

RB Leipzig head coach Ralf Rangnick has developed a ruthless new method of dishing out punishments around the club that range from delivering stadium tours to serving the team dinner.

The German boss has installed a giant wheel into the club's training ground with a number of unpleasant tasks surrounding the outside instead of the traditional fines system operated by many clubs.

Players who have broken one of the rules implemented by Rangnick and his coaching staff must spin the wheel to determine their fate.

Punishments on the wheel vary in the length of time required to complete it and embarrassment. Players can run the risk of serving their team-mates dinner, buying every member club staff a gift or looking after one of the pitches at their training base.

They could also complete a shift in the club store, train one of the academy teams for a day or wear a tutu for training, which is possibly the worst of the sentences.

Explaining the system to German newspaper BILD, Rangnick admitted financial penalties were becoming less and less effective in the modern game.

'Fines rarely do anything,' he said. 'It hurts the players hurt more, for example, if they have less free time.'

Rangnick has returned to the Red Bull Arena dugout this season after Leipzig and coach Ralph Hasenhuttl parted ways in May.

He is acting as a short-term solution though with highly-regarded Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann set to take over next summer.

Rangnick, who led Leipzig to their first ever promotion to the Bundesliga in 2016, had moved upstairs to a sporting director role during Hasenhuttl's tenure.

Leipzig have so far picked up just one point from their opening two Bundesliga fixtures. They lost 4-1 at Borussia Dortmund on the opening day before drawing 1-1 with Fortuna Dusseldorf last time out.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
