«Breaking News» Kate recycles a Catherine Walker coat to avoid stealing the limelight at friend's wedding

The Duchess of Cambridge regularly grabs headlines with her wardrobe choices.

But considerate Kate did her best to avoid the fanfare when she attended a friend's wedding over the weekend.

The 36-year-old royal recycled a Catherine Walker coat to watch childhood friend Sophie Carter tie the knot with Robert Suggs at St Andrew’s Church in Letheringsett, Norfolk, on Saturday.

She previously wore the striking periwinkle blue garment during the royal visit to Berlin in July last year.

It is not the first time the Duchess has donned a previously worn garment for a wedding.

Indeed it has been noted the Duchess appears to make a point of re-wearing her old outfits for a very important reason - so as not to upstage the bride.

Kate used the same styling trick at a number of previous weddings, most notably the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's in May when she wore a version of a favourite Alexander McQueen coat.

And during her pregnancy with Prince George the Duchess attended the wedding of William van Cutsem and Rosie Ruck Keene, again knowing that all eyes would be on her bump in anticipation of the birth of her first child.

She chose a very low key outfit in the form of a £38 polka dot dress from Topshop she had worn a month earlier to visit the opening of the Warner Bros Studios in Hertfordshire.

That's two blue coats in one week.

First the Duchess of Sussex wore a smart style by Smythe and now the Duchess of Cambridge is repeating this Catherine Walker dress coat!

Kate watched Prince George and Princess Charlotte play pageboy and bridesmaid at a friend's wedding over the weekend, and chose this cobalt blue style which she debuted on tour in Germany back in July last year.

We love the vibrant hue and 3/4 sleeves, plus the pleated skirt design is super flattering. When layered over a cornflower blue dress and teamed with Emmy London shoes, Kiki McDonough jewellery and a floral headband by Juliette Botterill Millinery in a matching hue, Kate's look was another lesson in how to be the best dressed wedding guest.

Meanwhile Kate deflected the limelight at the wedding of Zara Phillips to rugby player Mike Tindall in July 2011 by wearing a Day Birger et Mikkelsen coat she had sported for Laura Parker Bowles' wedding five years earlier.

However Kate updated her look for Sophie's wedding with a playful new accessory.

The Duchess paired the trusty Catherine Walker number with a daring custom headband by Juliette Botterill Millinery.

Kate chose an icy blue style from the designer for Trooping the Colour this year.

The mother-of-three finished the look with the same blue topaz and white gold jewellery set she wore with the coat in Germany.

Prince William, 36, looked his dapper best in a coat and tails wearing a dove grey waistcoat and a sky blue shirt to accompany his wife to the wedding.

Their eldest children, Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three, served as page boy and bridesmaid at the nuptials, but five-month-old son Prince Louis stayed at home.

The Cambridges are reported to have arrived at the ceremony in a farmer's truck, decorated with flowers and ribbons.

Five-year-old George – in a collarless white shirt, sky-blue knickerbockers, white stockings and white loafers – seemed in particularly playful mood.

A source told People magazine that George was 'the leader of the pack' and said that the five-year-old was 'having a great time'.

He laughed and giggled – and even led his fellow pageboys in a game of soldiers, marching around the church drive after the ceremony. Earlier he had poked his head out of the church porch several times as he waited for the bride to arrive.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
