«Breaking News» Ian Lenagan steps down as Football League chairman

Ian Lenagan has stepped down from his role as chairman of the Football League (EFL) with immediate effect.

Lenagan informed the EFL board at a meeting on Thursday of his intention to step down to focus on his other business interests rather than seek re-election next year for a second term.

The board accepted his decision but thought it would be in the best interests of the organisation if he were to step aside immediately and clear the way for a successor to be found.

Debbie Jevans, a senior non-executive director, will take the role as interim chair and lead the appointment process.

Lenagan joined the board in 2013 and became independent non-executive chairman three years later, replacing Greg Clarke who moved to the Football Association.

He is also the chairman and owner of Wigan Warriors RLFC and a former director of Oxford United.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
