After going just 1-35-1 over their last 37 games, the Cleveland Browns are facing an unusual situation heading into Thursday night's game against the visiting New York Jets: They're favorited to win.
Perhaps because they're 2-0 against the spread to start the season, the 0-1-1 Browns are a three-point favorite to beat the 1-1 Jets, who are coming off a dismal performance in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The Browns, meanwhile, are coming off a narrow three-point defeat in New Orleans last week in which kicker Zane Gonzalez missed two crucial field goals and a pair of extra points before being released this week. In Week 1 they tied the favorited Pittsburgh Steelers.

Thursday's game marks the first time the Browns have been favorited at home since 2015, according to ESPN. Not only was that back in the Johnny Manziel era, but it was before the team hired current head coach Hue Jackson to replace Mike Pettine in 2016.
Since then, the Browns are 1-32-1 and have now played 18 consecutive games as an underdog – the third-longest stretch of the last 15 seasons, according to ESPN.
Following last year's 0-16 campaign, many fans took part in a 'Perfect Season' parade, aimed to sarcastically poking fun of the Brown's recent misery.
Parade organizer Chris McNeil said more than 80 vehicles, including buses, pickup trucks and a garbage truck, made one lap around FirstEnergy Stadium, which in recent years has been dubbed the 'Factory of Sadness.'
'Hopefully we never, ever have to do this again for being 0-16,' McNeil told local radio broadcast station 92.3 The Fan.
'Next time we do this is going to be for a Super Bowl,' he added.
Most of the fans' anger was directed at owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam, who elected to keep Jackson after the Browns joined the 2008 Detroit Lions as the only teams to lose 16 games in a season.
An estimated 2,500-3,200 fans participated in the 'parade,' some coming in costumes, including one dressed as Big Bird wearing a Johnny Manziel jersey.
Fans helped symbolize the ignoble feat by driving their vehicles around the stadium in a loop, a representation of how many games the team won this past season, The Fan radio broadcast reported.
'Why are we Browns fans?' Local comedian Mike Polk Jr. yelled to the paraders. 'Because God hates us,' marchers behind him responded.
The Jets are currently rebuilding around first-round pick Sam Darnold, a quarterback out of USC that has thrown for three touchdowns and three interceptions in two games.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
