«Breaking News» Anthony Joshua polls fans over next opponent as he steps up rehabilitation following Povetkin win

Anthony Joshua has taken to social media to ask his supporters to choose his next opponent after breezing past Alexander Povetkin on Saturday.

Joshua, who secured a dramatic seventh-round knockout victory over the awkward Povetkin at Wembley, gave Twitter users a choice between Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte in the poll.

With over 30,000 votes already cast, Wilder enjoyed a narrow lead over Joshua's fellow Brit Fury, with Whyte lagging far behind the high-profile pair.

Joshua has already started his recovery from Saturday evening's fight, hitting the pool just 12 hours after the famous win.

The 28-year-old heavyweight champion could be seen swimming in a video published by his manager, Freddie Cunningham on Sunday morning.

Along with the caption, 'recovery begins', the video also showed Joshua doing lengths of the pool as a unicorn lilo went unused at the side of the pool.

The session caps a remarkable turnaround from the Watford-born star, with promoter Eddie Hearn revealing after Saturday's fight that he had struggled with flu during the build-up.

Hearn said: 'Ever since the Wilder fight fell through, there's always been the pressure of "What happens if you go and lose to Povetkin?"

'So we agreed to the fight. He wanted to fight Wilder, but he had to deal with his mandatory, so all eyes on that. He's taken himself away from all the circus but, even in his mind, he was like "What happens if I lose? We've booked April, we are talking about Wilder and I will look like a right plonker if we lose."

'And it's been a horrific camp. Injuries, he's had the flu all week and even this week I was thinking "This is just not meant to be".

'Woke up this morning and it's absolutely p****** down with rain. We get in the changing room, he's put his glove on and the thumb has gone – this is three minutes before the walk on. So changing the glove, putting it back on, re-taping it, I'm thinking "This is just destined to go wrong".

'I just had Gilberto in the locker room and I said "Gilberto, thanks for that mandatory". That is a stinker of a mandatory because you're never going to fight Povetkin as a voluntary are you? Worst style in the world for Josh (Joshua). Mate he's a f****** animal. So I am so pleased to get that one out the way.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
