«Breaking News» Trend for 'facelift brows' is anti-ageing hack for 2019

From wonder serums to nip-and-tucks, there are countless ways to tackle the signs of ageing in 2019 - but one expert has claimed the secret to a youthful face could be in the brows.

Dubbed 'facelift brows', the look is surprisingly simple to pull off and when done correctly can bring 'structure and lift' to your complexion according to celebrity makeup artist Sara Hill.

So can a pair of perfect brows really give you an instant face lift? Armed with a bar of Dove soap and a set of instructions, Femail put the technique to the test on London-based journalist Fabiana Cacace, 24.

We started by applying a soap-covered spoolie brush to Fabiana's brows in an upwards motion, before waiting ten minutes for the soap (Dove Original Beauty Cream Bar, £1.85 for 2x100g) to set them in place.

Can 'facelift brows' really give your face the appearance of structure and lift? Journalist Fabiana Cacace, 24 (before, left) put it to the test with the process taking just 20 minutes (after right). She used a bar of Dove soap, a spoolie, two eyebrow pencils and a highlighter

Next, we filled in the arches using a thin, dark brown brow pencil (we used Chelsea Boutique's All Day Brown Pencil, £20) - taking care to 'lift' them out towards the temple for that all-important lift.

We then filled in the centre of the brows using a slightly darker shade (Rimmel's Brow This Way Fibre pencil in Dark Brown, £4.99) - attempting an ombre look - and brushed the brows into shape, taking care not to make them look too 'groomed'.

To give even more lift, we then applied a small amount of highlighter (Nip+Fab  Liquid Gold Highlighter in Rose Gold, £12.95) underneath and on the inner corners of the brows, before applying extra highlighter on the cheekbones.

Glasgow-born makeup artist Sara Hill - who has worked with the likes of Grace Jones and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - says her technique can be achieved in five simple steps and will help bring a more youthful look for skin.

Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL, she said: 'As we age, very often our brows become sparser, and this can be an immediate giveaway of our ages.

The first step was to apply a wet spoolie covered with cream soap to the brows, to fix them into place (pictured). Women trying at home should hold them up 'like you’ve had a fright' according to celebrity makeup artist Sara Hill, who masterminded the look

THE VERDICT

Fabiana said: 'I have quite dark brows so I normally don't do anything to them, and don't use any products.

'I really like the final result. It's very different from my usual look, it gives my face a "lift" and the soap really helps to keep them in place.

'I wouldn't normally use highlighter but it really makes my eyes pop. It's a bit high-maintenance for an everyday look but I'd definitely try it again for a night out.'

'Just a simple fill with powder can make all the difference – however, there is a way that you can manipulate the shape and height of the brows completely, which can totally change the look of your face and take years off. I call this technique the Facelift Brow.'

How to master facelift brows by celebrity beauty guru Sara Hill

Step One

'Start by using a bar of soap, the cheaper the better! Dampen a clean mascara brush (a spoolie), and rub the brush into the soap, creating a creamy texture, you don’t want it to be too wet.

'Run the brush through the brows in upward strokes, pulling the brows directly upright (like you’ve had a fright!) Leave this to set. This is an old drag queen makeup trick, which makes the brows flat and keeps them in place, like glue.'

Step Two

'You want to fill in the arch of the brow with a skinny brow pencil. Ensure it’s either the same colour to or a little darker than your natural brow shade. You need to draw your arches a little higher, and then pull them back towards your temples a little – this will make your face look more lifted, and therefore more youthful.'

Step Three

'Fill in the brows with your pencil, making sure that you don’t draw too heavily in the centre. You should try to create more of an ombre look, graduating from the front of the brows down through the arches and to the tips.

'Groom the brows into shape, but remember to keep the hairs a little more upright, rather than brushing flat and to the side.'

Step Four

'Apply a radiant highlighter under the eyebrow, on the brow bones, to open the eyes and create lift. You can also smudge a small amount of highlighter in the inner corner.'

Step Five

'As an additional way to sculpt and lift the face, apply your highlighter a little higher on the cheekbones, closer to the brows than usual. You can also apply blush a little higher too; this technique will lengthen and lift the shape of the face, creating a smoother and more youthful finished look.'

Link hienalouca.com Interesting to note Looking for an investor or sponsor for a project to grow dinosaurs and relict plants. Requires the sum of investments from 400000$ to 900000$. The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
